So my experience of Robbie in 2006 is a bit of a blur. It was incredible, but honestly, I may have drunk far too much Jack Daniels. I’ve always called it one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, but back then, I don’t think I was fully present. I was living for the moment but not actually in it.

@maddog_sa Rant warranted. It’s that’s time of the year where everything is last minute.com. As I content creator I get asked to quote and present, this can take days or weeks. And in many cases - ghosted. As you say prudent to walk away.

Question for my agency peeps. Big Agency "x" calls and asks you to pitch on work for a car brand - yes, one of the big boys. You have several calls, present WIP to the creative and account team, and present the final concept so well that they break protocol and ask you to please present with them to the client—it's a new client they don't know well. All this in 4 days. Working over a weekend. You agree to present, It ends badly—there is stony silence in the room. Ten minutes after Teams' call, they hurriedly apologize that they totally misunderstood the brief, are getting new direction from the client, and will "definitely be in touch." They don't. They ignore emails. They don't answer calls. They blue tick and don't reply to WhatsApp. This is not about the work, we all have briefs that change. I am OK with that. But, should i be OK with being ghosted? Is it me? Did they hate my accent or hair? Do I say anything, do I walk away (probably the most prudent) or do I at least attempt to get some understanding of the next steps with or without us. We spend time and actual money on pitching. At the least, answer your fucking phones. Or has the industry evolved around me - and this is the new normal. OK, rant over. As you were.
