@CartoonCrawlers @EddieTrunk On a Genesis tour in 1987, they played Hampden Park in Glasgow. I didn't go, though my brother in law did. He witnessed Genesis playing some contemporary pop songs, incuding Karma Chameleon. Glad I didn't go. Wasting time that could be used for some back catalogue gems.

Eddie — you are not wrong! Two years ago, Billy Joel did a show in the UK. He then preforms a ton of Beatles songs because, as he said, “I’m in the UK” 🙄 He basically wasted a ton of time not performing his massive catalog, and, he is not in the same range as Paul or John. I personally was not happy with that choice. IMO.

It seems my opinion about artists doing covers live has touched off a debate of sorts? Apparently the part about artists with “deep extensive catalogs” was lost? All I am saying is an artist like Bruce has literally hundreds of songs. He does a percentage of covers all the time I’m told. IMO simply as a fan, if I go to see an artist because I love their music and they have an extensive catalog, I’d rather hear their songs. Simple as that. Again I get some have made covers their own, or it serves as a solo spotlight for someone. All good. But using the Bruce example I have a ton of friends that go see him and would much rather hear Jungleland or something he left out of his own catalog, vs a cover. I have seen Kiss, VH and more over the years add covers at the expense of big songs they left out. Just my opinion as a fan going to see an artist I love that has a large catalog. To each their own.

@CartoonCrawlers Not so much. Bought Steve and Phil's earlier albums (and Peter's). Saw Steve a few times in the late 70's and early 80's. Couldn't muster much enthusiasm for Mike or Tony's solo efforts. Liked Brand X too.

@RickShielsPGA I'm off 9. At my course . Par 70. On a very good day, low 70's. On a bad day mid/high 80's. Add an average of circa 80 yards per hole. Add Augusta's sloping Greens. Add a stimp of 13. Absolute carnage. I'd love to try though.

💿Released 52 years ago on this date, 1 April 1974, this triple-album soon became a prog classic. "I think I may have been the one that pushed it to be three. I can't remember." - Peter Gabriel
