As the midterms approach and Republican chances of holding the House and even the Senate wither with each new Trump scandal, Republicans are now taking drastic action to get a plan in place to ram through another extremist right-wing moron should extremist right-wing moron Samuel Alito chooses to retire in the next few months, as he is reportedly considering doing.
Senate Majority Leader Thune told the Washington Examiner that he was forming plans to replace Alito. “That’s a contingency, I think, around here you always have to be prepared for. And if that were to happen, yes, we would be prepared to confirm,” Thune said.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Judiciary chairman, told reporter David Sivak that “he'll recommend to Trump that Mike Lee or Ted Cruz replace Samuel Alito, should he retire.”
"I hope he doesn't retire ... but if he does retire, I'm going to suggest that either Lee or Cruz be put on the Supreme Court."
This would be a complete and utter disaster for our country. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are two of the dumbest men to ever darken the United States Senate, they’re both deranged right-wing extremists, and would be a rubber-stamp for Trump and any other Republican President, should we ever have one again.
Winning the Senate and giving us the power to expand the Supreme Court – or impeach every Republican on it – just got a whole lot more important, and it was *already* a matter of life and death for our democracy.
