Hit 375,000 words on the first draft of Pillars of the Sky this morning. Still writing, but only 8–10 chapters to go. Once the draft is done, it’s off to alpha readers, then revisions. While it’s out, I’ll start work on Dragonhold, a stand-alone Eye of Eternity novel.

I'm IN!! I didn't make the first cut for SPFBOXI, was on the waiting list as the 306th entry. I guess some books got culled, and now I'm in the contest!! Second year of the lottery for Dark Town. Needless to say, I'm SO excited. On SFF Insiders, for now, at least. @Kariem28 , weren't we in the same group in a previous contest? Other authors I recognize in the same group: Bill Adams and Morgan Shank, plus a bunch of other fun-looking books. It'll be a ride, regardless.

Gutted to say that I didn't make it into #SPFBO XI. Two years in a row of losing the lottery. This one hurts way more though because WINDS is the book I'm most excited to enter. Bleh. Huge disappointment. 😞

I blame it on shows like Xena and Hercules growing up, but I love the messy gods trope. Gods that deserve to be in a soap opera, Yes! I am all in.

Every story decides how long it needs to be and that means some will be shorties but I miss going big. I think the next 2 books will bring back a little bit of my chonky mojo. They are hefty tomes.
