Today we introduce Clementine V2, the next significant upgrade to our current BitVM2 based Clementine, coming after mainnet.
Clementine V2 completely removes liquidity requirements, made possible by three key papers:
1. rubin.io/public/pdfs/de… by @JeremyRubin
Delbrag utilizes garbled circuits, significantly reducing costs by moving most computation off-chain. Disproving malicious actions becomes extremely cheap, removing the need for operator collateral to cover costly BitVM2 transactions.
2. eprint.iacr.org/2025/964.pdf by @FairGateLabs
TOOP (Transfer of Ownership Protocol) removes the requirement for operators to front cover withdrawals by significantly increasing presignings.
3. citrea.xyz/clementine_whi…
These innovations align perfectly with our existing bridge design, which introduced Round Transactions. Round Txs halt fraudulent operators immediately, preventing theft and removing malicious actors from the set.
With Clementine, garbled circuits only need a single initial setup. Additionally, Round txs have multiple outputs, allowing us to randomly select some for signing deposits. This trick significantly reduces the number of required presignings. Since TOOP exchanges less liquidity requirements for additional presigning, it integrates seamlessly with our Round tx strategy.
