BEDFORD UPDATE: Over the weekend, there have been active negotiations between the South Australian Government, the Federal Government, National Australia Bank and potential buyers of Bedford. Everybody is working hard to reach the best possible outcome to ensure that Bedford employees have a secure future. I look forward to informing Bedford employees of the outcomes of these negotiations in the next day or two.

Despite the Coalition, today we have passed legislation to deliver an Australian CDC.

Before we came to government Australia was the only OECD country without a CDC equivalent. The former government had not led a national pandemic drill for 12 years and we were woefully underprepared for the covid pandemic.

The Liberal Party and Nationals just voted against delivering an independent Centre for Disease Control for Australia.
