At the risk of being labelled a NIMBY I legitimately don’t understand why anywhere away from the city centre and surrounds (which should be much more dense) needs to have that sort of height unless it is a legitimate new CBD (like Parramatta in Sydney). 6-8 storeys is surely tall enough as you move further away from the centre of the city (not just Melbourne but any city). Some of these heights, should they get built are going to stick out like a sore thumb. abc.net.au/news/2026-03-1…

@SustPopAus I have exactly the same setup in a new build rental - a powerpoint directly below water sources - I asked the builder about it and he just shrugged his shoulders & said it was 'on the plan' - no-one ever questioned it. Like building a synagogue next to a mosque - future trouble


⚠️ BIRD FLU This ⬇️ is NOT good news. Coupled with the unexpectedly early & severe flu season, the risk of a reassortment event occurring continues to rise. (Reassortment occurs when segmented viruses exchange gene segments between different strains & mutate into a new virus).
