The lunatic is on the grass The lunatic is on the grass Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs Got to keep the loonies on the path

THIS HAS TO BE THE STORY OF 2026 Ken Griffin’s Citadel was pushing surprise-rate-hike fears just days before the AI trade collapsed and forced 4x-levered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness to unload its book near the lows. Citadel then reportedly bought most of those assets at significantly lower prices knowing that if sentiment deteriorated enough the fund could be forced to sell which makes the entire sequence look absolutely ruthless. This is why the stock market is the greatest game on Earth.

Nightengale: Reds are telling teams that Hunter Greene is not available.

What could the #Reds get in return for Greene? “Given the salary and injury history, I think two Top 100 guys plus a third piece sounds about right,” an NL executive said.

The amount of insane takes around DeepSeek is amazing. I don’t think people realize how fast AI moves. Comparing open source models to something like o1 is fine, but you have to realize you’re comparing it to OpenAI’s capabilities from almost a year ago. I guess this one gets so much attention because it’s Chinese. This same pattern is going to keep repeating whether it’s a Chinese model or a western one. These models from companies like OpenAI go through months of “safety” testing and tweaking before releasing. The open source ones don’t do the same. So every time Anthropic or OpenAI release something, a few months later there will be an open source model that is seemingly “as good” and cheaper. This has already been happening, but because DeepSeek is Chinese it’s getting a lot more attention.
