Markham Year 2

Tomorrow MPS will say ‘goodbye’ to the lovely Mrs Healy @MarkhamYear2 We are going to miss her dearly but wish her every success as she moves on to pastures new. She has written such a special poem for us to treasure about our lovely school and village 💙 #Cynefin #belonging

We had a lovely visit from Sight Cymru who spoke to us about our eyes!! We learnt about how they work and how to keep them safe 👁️ 😁 @MarkhamYear2

Today we took a trip to a ‘Frozen Kingdom’. We took our passports and got on a plane. It was very cold.❄️

So proud of these superstars today! Amazing achievements in swimming and darts outside of school 🎯🏊‍♀️ I loved listening to you telling me all about it with so much excitement 💙

Christmas PACT 2025 🎄

Thank you to our lovely year 2 parents for coming to our Christmas PACT session! 🎄

Our wonderful Year 2 girls have been so engaged with using the woodwork bench and watching them help each other has been so lovely! Lots of skills being learnt! We cannot wait to see their finished coal carts! ⭐️

Another lovely woodwork session, with Mrs Healy, building our coal cart using our designs. We talked about how our designs look different to the end product, and some of us made changes during the building process.

This week’s Seren yr Wythnos have had a great week! Their teachers have been so proud of them and it was a pleasure to celebrate their hard work in assembly this morning. Mr Thomas had the privilege of their company for hot chocolate today ☕️💙

I am really looking forward to developing woodwork in our school! Year 2 really enjoyed learning about the tools and the safety rules this week!

Woodwork! This week we have learnt the woodwork safety rules and we learnt the names of the tools we will be using! We have already designed our own coal carts to build and make next week!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of spending time with residents from Hill View Care Home. A fantastic community event. It was heartwarming to see and an honour to be part of. The children chatted, coloured and danced the hour away. Thank you Markham community centre for inviting us

Today we completed JigSaw 🧩 activities for anti-bullying week. We always try our very best to ensure our classroom is a welcoming and accepting place and we celebrate our strengths and differences ❤️ #antibullyingweek #jigsaw #nurturedandinspired
