@TWBFarms Maybe all the clever people could make a safe eco friendly fertiliser from the billions of tons of sewage waste, much of which is being pumped into waterways directly??

If we rely on imports, remember, when others are short, they won’t export. Farmers warned, this crisis in the Strait of Hormuz won’t empty shelves tomorrow, but in 6 months, we will feel it. Past governments built policy assuming imports were enough and shut down domestic fertilizer. Now that lag comes home to roost. @UKLabour @Conservatives @reformparty_uk @GBNEWS @TheFarmingForum #FoodSecurity #FertilizerCrisis #StraitOfHormuz #SupportFarmers #Act

@saintdiamond1 Most of these degrees can be done in 2 years , and universities should pay money back for striking lecturers

One of the aspects that we ought to look at in regards to student debt and tuition fees related to why we charge the same fees for different courses. Mechanical Engineers are in desperate demand, so why not use the levers of the state to use the price mechanism re fees.

I’ve watched England for 45 years and been fortunate enough to go to over 200 games. Not sure I’ve seen such a poorly coached team. I’ve been saying for even before he was chosen that Borthwick is not the man, never was and never will be. My fear is what happens if they sack him, from a selfish Saints perspective.

Food still not even on the political agenda in the UK. The post-Brexit compact was that farmers would be paid to deliver environment, not food. Today, English farmers aren’t even being paid to do that. We’re nowhere on one of the biggest issues of our times. Tick tock.
Christophe Hansen@CHansenEU

If we discuss security without food, we cover only half the battlefield Farmers stand on the front line against hybrid threats, also at our Eastern borders In a world where dependencies can turn into vulnerabilities, resilience & food security must be our collective response

@FlindtTowers @1GarethWynJones There hangs the rub , helping dad & “light” duties are fine, running 18 tonnes of grain on their own , for 12 hours a day , cultivating night & day, expecting & celebrating long hours are not , the fine line between building experience & working the child to the bone is to close

@Markmid1 @1GarethWynJones Define 'working' in the farming context. Helping Dad feed cattle? Rogueing? Sweeping the barn? Learning how to change the oil on the tractor? All things I did aged about 13. What age would you allow them in the barn/fields?

@FlindtTowers @1GarethWynJones Do i detect sarcasm, but I didnt say that , what I said is, show me another industry that celebrates children working as young as 10, introduces them to heavy machinery legally at 13 & has the worst health & safety record in the country, its archaic, the industry has moved on ,

@tomallenstevens @Bayer4CropsUK @Bayer Its fairly obvious why , the digital scraping tool is only as good as the data entered poorly calibrated combine monitors are not the way to go , it really needed farmers to enter more data for what ? pretty maps ! behave most either couldnt be bothered or just enetred nonsense

For @Bayer4CropsUK to exit digital farming in the UK just when we’re on the cusp of the AI revolution is IMO a BIG mistake. We’ve the best pioneer farmers in the world. They’ll lead in this field. @Bayer will now just look on in envy, when they cd have been part of it
Tom Allen-Stevens@tomallenstevens

I’m finding it very difficult to believe that the attached is anything other than an announcement from its parent company that @Bayer4CropsUK is finished. Can anyone from the company put forward a convincing case to the contrary?

I’ve written to 6,000+ households and met residents about the proposed Green Hill Solar Farm. It’s clear this is the wrong place for large-scale solar on farmland. Today I joined @sarah_bool MP and locals at Downing Street to deliver a petition - standing up for our community 🌱

Only 30 places out of 80 taken on this free event so far Interesting to see how uninterested in using Ai in their business farmers clearly are, I can't help but think this will inevitability result in our industry getting left even further behind ☹️ Without doubts its already become the most powerful tool in my farm tool box eventbrite.co.uk/e/unlocking-ai…
