He didn’t want it We’ll never know He’s a could’ve , should’ve guy 🤷🏻‍♂️
N L W 🇺🇸@Gr8white13

@EricWynalda As an American soccer player, how much higher could he have gone???? Played in the World Cup, played in Premier League, Bundesliga, etc As someone talking about soccer at the YOUTH level, he is a guy that made it to the top. He isn’t claiming to be the best.

@Markroot14 @joedratnol @Gr8white13 @EricWynalda Carlos being shit and Cindy not fixing everything doesn’t make Eric not a jerk that people don’t like to work with. Eric is still a jerk that people don’t like to work with. He’s found a good spot where can talk, get paid to talk, and not have to work with very many people.

@Markroot14 @joedratnol @Gr8white13 @EricWynalda I didn’t say they’d be driven away from youth soccer, they’d have been driven away from Eric. USSF prez doesn’t have subpoena power, and it can’t tell all these clubs and associations what to do. The person in that position has to bring people together, and Eric ain’t that guy.

Hot Take for you @THEChrisKessell : I think the Norway controversy of the ball hitting the sky camera cable combined with the Croatia "hair hitting the ball" are 2 of the most interesting and controversial events in this World Cup. Both of those events resulted in them losing.

@Markroot14 @joedratnol @Gr8white13 @EricWynalda Well that’s like saying Trump’s personality united the country. His combative personality would have driven people away from the negotiating table regardless of what his ideas are. Factionalism in US Soccer would only have gotten worse.

@Markroot14 @joedratnol @Gr8white13 @EricWynalda Wynalda didn’t not win that election because of one single other candidate. He didn’t win because his combative personality rubs people the wrong way. And that’s got nothing to do with the mess that is US Soccer governance structure.

@DrDiGiorgio @robolivermd @awgaffney Lol, sure. So every economist across the ideological spectrum is just wrong. Hell, they buried it in an appendix, but even the Koch-funded boyz at George Mason admitted M4A would cover everyone for less than the status quo, mostly due to admin savings. But keep entertaining us.

My man @awgaffney just bludgeoning @DrDiGiorgio with receipts about insane US healthcare admin costs. GOP-aligned docs are always “omg gummint bureaucracy!” No. Massive US health care bureaucratic waste is a function of private sector inefficiency, greed & political power.
Adam Gaffney@awgaffney

(1) The "high denominator" issue is irrelevant: if it were, Medicare Advantage (MA) would also have low overhead. It doesn't, it has overhead of ~12% — the same as other private insurers — vs. 2-3% in Traditional Medicare (TM) (2) The fact that TM can use existing machinery ...

@nweiser09 @KevinFrazier I grew up in South Central Los Angeles. We had a local youth soccer league. No club system at all. We had a league tournament and a cup tournament every year with groups even. There was so much raw talent at that time, jam packed parks to see games every Saturday. Great times.

That’s possibly true. But the league can charge what they want. And there’s a lot more to the situation. Every MLS academy in the country is now free. No tuition, no pay to play, selection is based on talent, not the parent’s bank account. Thousands of kids currently train in that system for free. U.S. Soccer’s id2 program is free and scouts nationally, ODP has open tryouts in every state.

No, that’s not correct. I can absolutely attack the “message”. First, Kevin mentions an alleged personal anecdote which doesn’t reflect the broader situation. And maybe he missed the demographics of the US team this year, but to claim there’s some wide conspiracy to keep certain people out of soccer in this country is just a legit brain dead take.

@dpshow @KevinFrazier Kev, your nine-year-old is "playing @ the highest level"?I'm confused at this statement. And, to be clear, are you making the implication that US soccer is gatekeeping kids from "the hood" from making the national team? I'm trying to follow, but it's not coming together. Clarify?
