@MidnightRamp @HansAmato Should be cooked to avoid problematic compounds like antinutrients etc. The benefits he is referring to comes from the indigestible fibre that detoxes estrogen.

You can literally look 10 pounds lighter in 2 weeks just by eating 200g of white button mushrooms a day. Estradiol drops. Inflammation drops. Water retention drops.

@insomnvia @nolimit_luke_ I’f that is 1200 calories then your thyroid is probably cooked and your metabolism is fried. Go get your thyroid tested and you need to start eating more

@nolimit_luke_ no honey, it doesn't work like that for everyone. i count my calories everyday and this is my typical full day of eating. unfortunately, there are invisible illnesses that do not help at all.

@metabolic_print So if we do the tests and it comes back normal but we have most of the symptoms of hypothyrodism and feel like garbage, what’s the next step. Since diet alone hasn’t fixed it

You can have normal thyroid blood levels, and still be hypothyroid. Just like knowing how much money is in someone's wallet doesn't tell you their spending rate. A patient can have normal labs and clinically severe hypothyroidism because their cells aren't responding to the hormone that's there.

Zinc carnosine is different (In your first comment you said zinc carnivore lol) Only around 16mg is actual zinc, the rest is carnosine bonded to it for gut lining repair. Useful short-term for ulcers or damaged mucosa but if gut health is the goal, fixing the diet does more than any supplement (gelatin, dairy, ripe fruit, low PUFA) Anyways the usual zinc carnosine cycle lasts for around 6-8 weeks so you lose nothing trying it out

@ThyroidDriven I’ve seen a lot of people recommending taking zinc carnosine as a supplement for gut health but the ones I can find are between 40-75mg.

@MarkusLahdo 75 mg is way too much It'll throw your balance out the roof Oysters are the better alternative but if you insist on supplementing at least get that dosing down to around 40 mg

with low stomach acid, you’ll never trigger muscle protein synthesis properly despite how good you eat or how hard you train this directly impacts your growth, let me tell you why when you eat a meal high in protein, something called a pepsinogen is released. this pepsinogen needs a certain amount of pH in your stomach acid to be activated to digest your protein but when you have low stomach acid, the pH rises so this pepsinogen won’t actually get activated. then as they get to the small intestine, because of your low stomach acid, the proteins aren’t attacked by enzymes to unfold them so they stay folded and proteases (which are already low because of the acid issue) can’t break them down properly because of the proteins still being folded. because of all this, the amount of amino acids you absorb is way too low. because the protein isn’t being absorbed, the amounts of leucine (an amino acid) is below the amount you need to trigger muscle growth. despite the amount of protein you eat, you still won’t actually be activating muscle growth basically making that meal redundant when your gut is broken and stomach acid is low. you can recognise low stomach acid if you have issues such as: bloating after high protein meals, burping 30-60mins after eating, feeling full when you shouldn’t, undigested foods in your stool and reflux solving it? i’ll go into that too. betaine hcl is the one that directly intervenes with this and by having around 650mg (now foods capsule), you solve this. if you feel issues, you don’t actually have low stomach acid or you’re dosing too much. bitters before a meal also help, something such as gentian root, as this stimulates the enzymes for digestion and it’ll lead to acid being secreted. supplementing zinc and b1 or just getting it from diet is important for the parietal cells (secretes the stomach acid). when these are low you’re not producing or secreting a good amount of stomach acid. before optimising training, diet and whatnot, it’s so important to look at things like low stomach acid and how it’s impacting your muscle growth and other things

@anabolicgut It helped in the beginning it was like I got my life back. Have had severe gut issues since I was born. From the way peaters talk I thought I could get the same feeling of early carnivore but with carbs and no long term sides. But that didn’t happen

@PGC1a_RB More men should seek professional help. Stuffing it down and locking it up only works for so long. Eventually the door hinges snap and all hell breaks loose.

@rudekyoni999 Could you explain the doomscrolling one further. I’m assuming it’s everything that’s overstimulating and that reducing overall artificial dopamin stimulation would be the solution for that part.

@rudekyoni999 Started taking a B complex from Thorne. Feeling a better and it increased my temp but it gives me heart palpitations and some kind of low grade anxiety. Could it be because of an increase in metabolism? I take it with a big meal of potatoes and some form of protein
