I deeply regret my vote. You offered no condolences for the 168 Iranian schoolchildren slaughtered by U.S. and Israeli missiles, yet you were quick to mourn 2 people killed in the UAE. You reward child-killers and sanction the victims of aggression. @MarkJCarney, you are not the leader this peace-loving, humanitarian country deserves.
Mark Carney@MarkJCarney

Canada shares its condolences with the UAE following the latest Iranian attack that took the lives of two civilians in Abu Dhabi.    We strongly condemn Iran’s unprovoked attacks on the UAE and across the region, and reiterate the importance of opening secure access through the Strait of Hormuz. Canada supports efforts to safeguard international shipping and ensure freedom of navigation.

Carney failed to realize that people only voted for him because the Conservative leader was too aligned with Trump and his policies. Canadians wanted to maintain our independence and stand on the right side of history. If we had known that Carney and his party would just become the executors of Trump and Netanyahu’s policies, we would never have voted for him.

While the world celebrates Eid, here in Gaza, fathers place new Eid clothes on the graves of their children. Here, we live in a world cut off from the rest of the world, a forgotten, oppressed people subjected to genocide and ethnic cleansing for the third year, with no one stopping it. This is what Eid looks like in Gaza.

Iran seems to be following a strategy of unveiling more and more impressive military capabilities as the war goes on. They just fired long-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, one of the most strategically significant U.S. military bases in the world (hosting B-52 bombers, nuclear subs, etc.), nearly 5,000km away from them in the middle of the Indian ocean 👇. Diego Garcia has never been hit before in any war in its 5 decades of existence, and no-one knew Iran had these types of capabilities (Iran themselves said their ballistic missile range was limited to 2,000 kilometers). Two days ago, they also took down an "unkillable" F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet, something which has never happened before (militarywatchmagazine.com/article/footag…). They've also managed to take control of the world's most strategic oil chokepoint, and have proven they can hit any strategic target in the wider Middle-East, even the most protected ones (such as Israel's Haifa oil refinery: aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/19…). All in all, it sounds almost unbelievable but Iran appears to have a genuine form of escalation dominance over the United States military, with its trillion dollar budget. In a very real way, it's even more impressive than Vietnam or Afghanistan: those countries resisted a superpower, Iran appears to be competing with one. It also makes you think: what comes next? And that's exactly what escalation dominance is all about: keep raising the stakes until the other side blinks. It's about making Trump think "wait, I thought I was picking a fight with the skinny kid and turns out he's Bruce Lee."

@RnaudBertrand This type of event kind of legitimatizes the attack by the US/Israel IMO. It can't be said that Iran wasn't a serious threat.

We are appalled by the selective humanity, the double standards, and the selective outrage that continue to shape and define Canadian foreign policy. As Canadian citizens, we refuse to accept a system where human lives are valued differently based on geography, politics, or identity. Citizenship is not passive it carries a responsibility to speak, to question, and to hold our government accountable. Justice cannot be conditional. Compassion cannot be selective. When silence is chosen for some victims and outrage for others, it exposes not only hypocrisy but a profound moral failure. Canada must uphold the principles it claims to stand for. A foreign policy rooted in selective human rights is not principled it is complicit. As citizens, we reject this hierarchy of human worth. We stand for equal dignity, consistent justice, and accountability for all people, everywhere without exception. #CanPoli #IranWar

Canada is appalled by the Iranian Government’s execution of a Swedish citizen in Iran. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and express our full solidarity with Sweden. Canada continues to call on the Iranian regime to respect human rights and uphold their responsibilities under international law.

I haven’t seen a single critique say they didn’t like the movie because the characters were “bad people.” But I have read lengthy criticisms, many by Black women, that offer substantive political, racial, and narrative analysis. Interesting what people are choosing to read and engage with.

It wasn't even my favorite movie of the year but I genuinely do not understand disliking OBAA. Every criticism I've heard of it makes me feel like the critic and I just don't even agree what a movie is. "The characters are bad people." Yeah, it's not a moral treatise. "It's

It's hard to describe how much I hated this movie. The whole thing makes Hollywood egomaniacs feel like they are the resistance when in reality they are the rich people, wearing single use $20,000 outfits, talking down to staff, OD’ing on Ozempic and generally being the most resource-consuming, selfish, narcissistic people on the planet. But ok, sure, you’re revolutionaries in Chanel and Balenciaga with a face full of filler and Botox!
