Big Shots Spotlight: Marques “MJ” Fitch (6’0 2028 Kellam HS). MJ’s ability to score at all three levels and his high IQ playmaking makes him one of the better floor generals in Virginia’s 2028 class. Excellent feel for the game; knows when to distribute or look for his own offense and also realizes when to slow things down or when to attack. Impressive how quickly he processes action on the court. MJ uses low quick crossovers and strong strides attacking space. Strong upper body to win with physicality at the point of attack. Quick handle, low and tight, he protects the basketball nicely in traffic and his savvy ball handling and efficiency in his execution allows him to easily get to his spots to score or distribute the basketball. MJ is a very good finisher with creativity and touch from various angles. He has sound footwork allowing him to flourish in tight spaces using pivots, step throughs, shifty footwork, etc as both a finisher and a passer. Wastes little body movement, efficient and concise to maximize his athleticism. As a facilitator he is probing, makes the right reads and delivers timely and accurate passes. He’s vocal, heady and shows strong leadership skills. As a shooter his stroke is fluid, compact and he is a highly efficient scorer from all levels. Poised! MJ has so many intangibles that makes him an attractive prospect and you’d be hard pressed to find many true floor generals with his skill level and understanding. Highly unselfish and for a guy who can really score it he operates as a pass first play creator. He defends his position effectively and is a very good rebounding guard! For his efforts Marques earned 2nd team All Region honors last season as a freshman! He’s also a high academic student/athlete. MJ comes from successful basketball roots as his Dad, Marques Fitch was an All ODAC performer and 1,000 point scorer who helped lead Virginia Wesleyan to a national championship in 2006 and was part of two conference championship teams during a brilliant college playing career. #BigShots #KellamSpringLeague @BigShotsToday @BigShotsGlobal
