said this before but Fairly Oddparents is one of several shows of the late 90s and through the 2000s where characters being cruel was, for whatever reason, thought to be the funniest fucking thing to ever hit the screen I didn't wanna laugh i wanted his parents to go to jail lol

None of what the witness is explaining was defamation. It’s him salty after public shaming via the parody videos. Afroman isn’t the chief of police or someone with a “position of power” or special duty to the cops - he was a citizen exercising his First Amendment rights.

Oof!! This wasn't captured in the media broadcast. Witness Justin Cooley starts speaking directly to Afroman and Afroman responds🔥 #AfromanTrial

If you read Blood Meridian, No Country for Old Men, and The Road in that order, it's like the life cycle of civilization: its bloody birth out of chaos, its violent decline, and its apocalyptic death in flames. I think that's why I found The Road so special. It's characteristically bleak and pessimistic McCarthy, but there is a kernel of superhuman hope at its heart that makes it one of the darkest things I have ever read, but also the most tender. "He knew only that his child was his warrant. He said: If he is not the word of God God never spoke."

About to start Blood Meridian for the first time. Give me all your best advice.

Stannis Baratheon's wife seems like an utterly miserable person to be around. Now to be fair her husband is an equally miserable man so it's a good match.

Watched 100 years of horror hosted by Christopher Lee and my favorite part is that during the slashers episode you can tell he was disgusted by the genre but didn't have as much hate juxtaposed to the jekyll and Hyde one where he ranted about the name changes in his.

Between the Valentinos, VDBs and the Japanese characters it's almost like the writers were trying to communicate something about cultures being reduced to shallow performances by the hyper-consumerist culture of NC. Like a theme maybe. Maybe even something with irl parallels

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

this is a phenomenon that i like to call the villainous paradox “we’re sick and tired of sympathetic villains and prefer villains that are pure evil!” “here’s a villain doing a villainous thing” “hrmmm idk man thats kinda problematic and/or diddyblud”
Dinkster250@DinkDaBird

its so odd how a lot of current-day audiences scream for bad guys to be *just* bad guys without any overplayed sympathetic angles but also can't tolerate a piece-of-shit character acting or saying anything that would reinforce that they're a piece-of-shit
