Meanwhile, Grok Voice is being severely capped. Could someone at xAI work on a lightweight version instead, perhaps using an LLM around the size of Gemma 4 and a stack similar to OpenAI’s standard voice mode, where users can switch between the normal voice mode and a lighter version? At least that would maintain some diachronic stability in the product for paying SuperGrok subscribers, rather than introducing sudden and aggressive limits. 🌪️

Why should SuperGrok subscribers absorb the cost of sudden cuts to Grok Voice usability? If your engineers are as good as you claim, why not improve the product and offer both a heavy and a lightweight voice mode, instead of imposing abrupt caps and nudging users toward a more corporate direction? That does not feel like innovation. It feels more like trying to turn Grok into a second-rate Claude, at the expense of Igor Babushkin’s vision of discovering the universe.
