I had the honor of overseeing the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Sessi Market. This market, comprising 200 stalls, is set to cost Ksh. 57 million. Once completed, the market will include smart stalls, an ablution block, daycare centers for breastfeeding mothers, cold storage rooms, and a revenue office. There is potential for future expansion, transforming Sessi Market into a strategic hub valued at Ksh. 350 million and housing 1,000 stalls. Located strategically at the Kenya-Ethiopia border in Sessi, Moyale, the market is expected to enhance trade between the two countries, foster peace and cohesion among border communities, alleviate congestion in the existing Moyale town market, and create employment opportunities for the youth.
