David Hofmans, a Classic winner and a true horseman, has passed away at the age of 81.

Sad news in horse racing: Trainer David Hofmans died today. His wife, Linda Murray Hofmans, confirmed the news to me and said an autopsy is pending. Hofmans, 81, won the '96 Breeders' Cup Classic with Alphabet Soup and '97 Belmont with Touch Gold. Story to come.
