We recently published a SARS-CoV-2 study in PNAS suggesting that not all viral mutations are evil. Instead ADAR1-induced adenosine to guanine mutations in SARS-CoV-2 RNA appared to correlate with less infectious and less dangerous variants of the virus. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35064076/
