This actually goes for the entire show tbh. Gotham feels less fleshed out than it is in TAS, but in both it’s often reduced to a backdrop. Partially restraints of the animation, but they also don’t seem interested to. It’s ironically losing a lot of visual identity that way.

For Jon Kent to be a ‘successful’ (tenuous concept of course) character, he needs to meet or surpass Kalas a character. To be a ‘successful’ superhero, he needs to meet or surpass Superman as a superhero.

My thing with Jon Kent/legacy characters as a whole, is if you want them to be ‘successful’ they need to be *as good* if not *better* than the original, in EITHER a Watsonian OR a Doylist sense. Jon Kent kind of isn’t either.
