Two of many special moments from the launch party for #ReadingLessons. Friends from my first school, inc the head of English who appointed me and the NQTs who I mentored in 2001-2. And me with my own former English teacher, without whom none of this would happened.

@william_whyte @MaryAreading Little things: without fail Clive sloshed his coffee & wd empty his saucer into his cup. One time, before a college dinner, I was a pair of cuff links short and Clive entrusted me with his father’s. He was evidently proud his dad’s career as a policeman.

Are there any blogs/secondary schools out there who are trying to target the development of reading fluency for their pupils?

@_Reading_Rocks_ Can we get some for incoming year 7s if their primaries haven’t taken you up on this? We bought some for our transition days but would love to get our hands on some more!
