.@DurhamCouncil my team spoke to housing dept as a distraught person rang my office, homeless, sleeping in disabled loo. DCC team refused to even acknowledge they’re supporting them. We don’t want all the details, just assurance they’re on system. This isn’t helpful in a crisis.

Twitter/X a cesspit of misinformation? It’s the only forum where many people can get some idea of what’s going on in the world without British mainstream media bias. Certainly it’s the only forum where many people can share their disgust at this malign and dystopian Labour government. And no wonder career politicians like you absolutely loathe it. Posting pompous declarations that you’re limiting your Twitter/X use or like many supporters of the Israeli regime in Labour Friends of Israel - Phillips, Kendall, Jo White et al - saying they’re leaving it altogether. Just after Labour were elected in 2024 you published a piece in @TheNorthernEcho emphasising the fact that there was a £22 billion black hole that would inpact on Labour’s intentions. Have you said anything since about the billions given to Zelenskyy and the military costs of helping the US and Israel in their murderous military campaigns in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran? Of course you haven’t. When all is said and done, your career is about toeing the party line. You have disenfranchised many constituents like myself because you don’t speak out about the issues that concern us and people across world. I honestly feel I have no representation in Parliament. Instead, you cover your tracks by posting performative trivia on your Facebook page, holding up useless placards that are supposed to confirm your concern for these things. You coast along and usually abstain or are absent on the votes that truly matter to people. The only time I’ve seen you really upset about anything was when your mate Sharon Hodgson’s office was gutted in an arson attack. @SharonHodgson the eminent Parliamentary Officer and vice chair of the undemocratic and unaccountable lobby organisation Labour Friends of Israel. Your voluble indignation revealed your own authoritarian tendencies and loyalties in what you wanted to see done in respect of the perpetrators. I stick by what I said in this cesspit of disinformation - that you’re a fake socialist and loyal Starmer foot soldier. You’re an essential part of Starmer’s clique dominating Durham politics - you, Starmer’s protege - the Police and Crime Commissioner @PccJoyAllen, Luke Akehurst, Jeremy Whiting et al. Two and half years of excusing the inexcusable: targeting pensioners and the winter fuel payment, defending grooming/rape gangs, targeting sick and disabled people, scrapping trials by jury, initially keeping the two-child benefit cap and supporting, unconditionally, the @CIJ_ICJ designated war crimes in Gaza. The non-stop drip feed of sleaze from Mandelson to @JoaniReid. Yes, a malign, corrupt and dystopian Labour government which you fit into very well indeed. A lifelong Labour voter since 1979, I chose not vote for you or Starmer in 2024 having seen what Starmer’s faction did to @jeremycorbyn. I sincerely hope that @TheGreenParty can put up another Hannah Spencer here in Durham at the next election. @marykfoy @UKLabour @lukeakehurst @JeremyWhiting

Even at this late stage, opposition Lords are STILL voting to water down key measures in the Employment Rights Bill - risking delaying key new rights like access to Statutory Sick Pay from Day One. Today, the UC & PIP Bill returns to the House of Commons for the third reading. I’ve made my opposition to this legislation being railroaded through clear from the outset. Continues 👇🏻

One of the many reasons I took time off this platform. The lack of fact checking by people who comment, accusing me of things that actually aren’t true. It’s exhausting combatting it. Well it was ‘fun’ for a day. Think I’ll head off again for a while. Toodles.

Just finishing off after a long, hard, frustrating and emotional day. It’s never easy voting against your own Government, but I simply couldn’t support the UC and PIP Bill, even with the concessions offered. Back tomorrow bright and early for another busy day! 🍌 #TakingThePIP
