@MarysZombie @cooltxchick This is the last time I can do this bc you are tiring me out. I was designated totally disabled in '98 due to effects of Lyme disease. After 2 yrs, was on M'Care. It is not the patients on Advantage paying extra, it is the fact that the Adv. plans can pad their bills to MCare.

Dr. Oz has promoted Medicare Advg and wants to expand it, in line with Project 2025´s plans to privatize Medicare & move seniors to Advantage plans. Oz also wants to move employees off their employer plans and onto Advantage plans w/a 20% flat tax to pay for it. Which is curious considering Trump wants to get rid of taxes. Medicare Advantage plans have limited network options, is rife with fraud, frequently deny coverage for long term care and hospice, causing seniors to switch back to traditional Medicare to get the care they need end of life. President Biden cracked down on deceptive advertising aimed at seniors, while Dr. Oz used his show to promote it. Privatization of Medicare will only insure that companies and providers will profit, while leaving our seniors to die without proper care…

I pay same for a combo with both or I can have trad at the same cost but gatekeeper PCP keeps me from specialists, and somehow, that is a gift to ins co? Explain to this RPh Who that works as a professional MD qualifies for Medicare?

@MarysZombie @cooltxchick Advantage was a gift to the private ins industry. I’ve had MCare A&B since 2000 & am aware of the premium costs. Added D when it became available. Not sure what your point is. I wish to choose my providers& go when I want to. Perhaps my work as an MD influenced me.

@emcinerney1 @cooltxchick Part D is rx alone Part B is doctors.. but you pay your premium.plus 80/20 Part C is advantage >nearly ALL have no added monthly costs, you pick a plan that suits your needs and include Rx coverage w/low Rx costs They are not bilking the system

@MarysZombie @cooltxchick I was on SSDI & had traditional MCare since 2000. Did they end that option? I was moved from SSDI to SSA when I turned 65

@emcinerney1 @cooltxchick I don't think people understand Medicare advantage plans are the ONLY way people on SS or SSDIcan GET any medical care Medicare part A only covers vaccines and hospitalization...you must choose and advantage plan to be covered at ALL for all health care and Dr visits

@cooltxchick Medicare Advantage also costs more than traditional M'Care. It's a glorified HMO; the insurance companies have been making more $$ in reimbursement from the M'Care fund, while keeping down medical costs for themselves by using the gatekeeper system.
