The simplest explanation is the Quran is fabricated by a man who didn't know the first thing about the Bible. After all "the Ear" included content from the Talmud, Midrash, and forgeries from gnostics and pseudepigrapha. A true prophet would have known none of thse are from the real God.

Naturally words hold multiple meanings in any language. It's the context that matters. From 5:43 onward the Quran points out how the Torah and Gospel are on equal footing with Muhammad's judgments. The context of this is that these are fully confirmed to be as authoritative as Muhammad's authority. That's 100% reliable. And 5:48 states this confirmation, and that the Quran itself is the guardian/protector. Note how YOUR scholars chose to translate this. Between "its hands" STILL means it's confirming that which existed in the 7th century. We have that text and it matches what we have today. It also matches what was around a millennium before the Quran. We have all these through textual criticism, demonstrating excellent presevation of the Bible. The dots all connect. The Quran claims to fully confirm the Bible that existed in the 7th century. We have this same Bible today thanks to textual criticism. It claims to be the protector over the Bible. It claims the Bible is Allah's unchanging book. There is not one verse that says the Bible is corrupted. But it also massively contradicts the Bible. The rest is the #IslamicDilemma, of which I'm sure you're familiar by now. Islam can never be true because it builds itself into a corner with nowhere else to go.

این حماقت‌ها یعنی چه؟ مثلاً بگوییم چندش‌تر از کسی که وثاقت سهل بن زیاد آدمی را قبول ندارد، نداریم؛ چندش‌تر صفت کسی‌ست که راجع به چیزی که نمی‌داند مکفّرانه نظر می‌دهد و حب و بغض جاری می‌کند. هم‌چون نوعِ مخالفان و موافقان این موضوع.
