In recognition of 250 years since the beginning of the Revolutionary War, here is a collection of some of Massachusetts’s revolutionary “first” accomplishments.

For the men and women of our military, service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. It becomes part of who you are and how you lead, give back, and show up for others every day. That’s what Military Appreciation Day is all about. Proud to join @JLydgate, @MassLtGov, and @MassEOVS at the State House today to recognize 138 veterans for everything they’ve done — and continue to do — for our state and nation.  From transforming our Veterans Homes to passing some of the strongest pro-veteran laws in the country, we’re committed to making Massachusetts the best place for veterans and military families 🇺🇸

Every year, thousands of American flags are planted on Boston Common to honor the service members who gave their lives for our country. Each one represents a person, a family, and a sacrifice that made our freedoms possible.   What makes this memorial so meaningful is that it’s built by people showing up, year after year, to remember. A simple act of love and gratitude that, together, becomes something even more powerful.    For 250 years, Americans in every generation have answered the call to serve — an unbroken line that started right here in Massachusetts with the National Guard and the battles of Lexington and Concord.    Ahead of Memorial Day, @JLydgate and I joined @homebaseprogram to honor the fallen, the veterans who carry their memory forward, and the families we’re committed to supporting every day. We will never forget your loved ones, their service, or the sacrifice they made for our country 🇺🇸

This morning, the Lowell community gathered at Veterans Park to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. The Memorial Day ceremony brought together veterans, families, local leaders, and community members in remembrance and gratitude.
