The soviets were state-enforced atheists and they didn't fuck road kills. Because it creates an inherent disgust in people. You don't need religion. You don't even need to know how to articulate words. You don't even need to have met another person. The very thinking of someone else performing the act causes you to feel a revolution deep into the stomach. This is an evolutionary trait that all humans have across most cultures and time periods. So much so that if you're a human who does not feel like this, then you're probably mentaly ill. Humans are social creatures and people with mental illness are often ostricized and kept at arms distance in most societies. Only recently did we in the west chose not to do it but that doesn't erase history. Also when you think "Atheism" i bet you think "edgy reditors." But there are alot of other world ideologies and religions, derivates of confuscionism, budhism, hinduism that do not believe in an afterlife or supernatural or mystical. So they are "atheist" in that sense that they dont think gods exist. And they don't fuck road kills either. Now obviously there might be people that DO fuck road kills which is why we do consider them "mentaly ill".

My argument is that morality is like language. It shifts and moves across the ages. india iddnt always shit on the streets. it extremly unlikely it will shit in the streets in 400 years However shiting on the streets is not written in the bible nad yet most cultures dont do it. But fine if you want another example poisoning rats is ok poisoning dogs is not. Show me what the bible has to say on it

@japan_nobunaga Distance when using standardized public transport with regular arrival and departure times is better measured in distance. I have a 12 mile drive to work, distance says it should only take me 15 minutes, the reality is it take closer to 30 because of traffic and obstacles.

Hello from Japan 🇯🇵 Something about America still confuses me. When I ask how far something is, Americans almost never say the miles. You say: "It's about 45 minutes." "Two hours, depending on traffic." In Japan we usually answer in distance. Kilometers. Exact. Is time really how you FEEL distance in America? I'm not joking — I genuinely want to understand. How do YOU answer "how far?" where you live?

@reqtzn Looking at modern number Belgium is barely 4.5x lower on homicide US has health insurance and if you pay your monthly premium (which isn't that much) procedures and regular checkups are maybe a $10 co pay... Happier is a subjective measurement. What's your pop breakdown for inc.?

@DuckieLouise People always forget to account for time accelerating/decelerating, slow traffic, rush hours, unlucky stop light timers and more. You really just don't save as much time as you think you might when the numbers are states as you driving in a straight line with 0 traffic.

@DuckieLouise Anecdotal evidence, but I did a study for me where I timed driving to and from my college every day for a month. I started when I turned on my car and stopped when I turned it off, every week I switched between driving the limit and driving 10 over. On average saved maybe 1 min.

Driving faster literally does not save time. I forget how the math works out but it’s because the difference between the speed limit and 10 or so mph over it is so negligible that you will not even make it 30 seconds earlier if you speed. You just make it more dangerous for the people around you. So stop it lol. I promise it isn’t the least bit worth it.
