[Emergency comms] I’m opening 2 slots to help pay for my cat’s vet bills. He got into an accident a few weeks ago and has had major surgery done. He’s been confined since then cuz of the complications with the injury but is mostly stable now atleast.

Doesn't affect the comp formula either. All of the surrounding details on this acquisition makes it my second favorite behind only K9. This was a huge need and it's been addressed in the best way possible for what's available. Minschew is getting almost double what the Chiefs are paying Fields, and I'm not convinced he's not a couple steps worse than Fields.

To my understanding the financial side of this deal is interesting too. Fields is owed $10M guaranteed in 2026, but the Jets are reportedly paying $7M of that, leaving Kansas City responsible for just $3M. Low risk move for KC✅

@hbtCHIEFS Hugely underrated signing. This honestly might be the second or third best signing of the off-season for KC. Very capable QB2, can definitely win 3/4 games if Mahomes needs the time. I freaking love this, and KC didn't have to spend any of 2026's draft capital to get him.

Tbh, I don't think this trade has as much to do with Mahomes' injury as it does with acquiring a higher-ceiling backup QB for basically nothing. The most dynamic QB we'd had behind Mahomes for a 2027 6th-rounder and a $3M hit.
