📷NEW ART📷 The Montage of Our Lives ​I recently lost a friend. At the service, they played a five-minute tribute - a reel of archival moments showing her being her bright, multi-faceted, incredible self. ​It got me wondering: if she were the editor of her own life's film, would the cut be the same? How far is our internal narrative from the stories others tell? Would she have chosen those specific fragments, or would she have flipped the script entirely? ​I’ve started imagining my own reel. What would make the final cut of my five-minute life summary? Since I’m an observer by nature, my camera is rarely pointed at myself. It’s pointed at the beauty I hunt for every day. Would my video be a sequence of flowering orchards and goofy dogs? A gallery of my stippling art? Or those intense, sleep-deprived portraits of early motherhood, where love was written in the shadows under my eyes? ​Death forces a hard look at life. It’s about perception - mine vs. theirs. It’s about what we cherish and what we let slip through the cracks. What actually stays behind when the credits roll? And who gets to edit the story of who we were? (Digital drawing, 2026)
