I block *a lot* of accounts, most of it automated. If I blocked you, I more than likely don't even know why, and don't know who you are. It's possible you don't deserve it and I often unblock people I see make good posts. This is the best way to use this hellsite.

@beatami_ I think it's also the way it plays into so many transfem stereotypes. To people who weren't trans girls, it makes it feel more authentic, as that's what they know trans girls for. The messy sexual awakening and all.

@Matematics42 thank you for your input by the way. i did not even consider that its distance and inaccuracy might be why those who didnt experience like it, unlike those who did have the closest approximations to that experience who are bouncing off of it

i am so so so so glad i did not quote the actual post with this critique, because every other critique from a tgirl ive seen that did has attracted the most insane glazers in the universe who ignore and gaslight her.
♡cami♡@beatami_

re the comic: i have more respect for the empathy of this artist towards us than most, but i find the inchoerent framing of the setting and the lack of understanding of internal shame concerning. it misses a very key part of getting groomed as a young tgirl: youre GETTING groomed

@tinybird420 I think I've come to realize what I really hate about that, it's the fandomification of it all. The traumatized trans girl figure is a doll you can dress however you want, feel freee to give her a happy ending, feel free to give her a bad ending. She's not real after all.

@Matematics42 you cant fandomise a character based on a very real trans woman quite as easily, yeah...

@beatami_ Yeah this is exactly my feelings. The character is a theorical trans woman you can feel pity towards, that might exists, but ultimately doesn't. You can "draw her happy" and change her existence. It doesn't work if the character was a real child, one now telling you her story.

@Matematics42 they probably empathise MORE with it, perhaps in subconcious and subtle ways if i was charitable, BECAUSE its not from our own perspective. its less "real" if its just an observation and not a real experience, its a "character based on real events" instead

@beatami_ This really makes me wonder, if the comic was autobiographical and/or made by a trans woman, would it receive as much praise as it does now? And I really can not imagine the answer to that being yes. There are many trans women telling their childhood stories that don't get heard.

@beatami_ While it's not fair to the artist, the reception of that comic also made me dislike it more. It's the over the top empathy towards a fictional character. The perfect trans girl victim that doesn't actually exist, that you project whatever you want on, because she's not real.

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump I think by its quippy nature, it's the kind of term you'd see used in a twitter call out post or internet beef, but not in serious literature. In a way it's quite similar to "theyfab" (in more ways than one).

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Never policed it in that situation, not that I had the opportunity because I can not tell you the last time I've seen it used that way. Never seen a serious transmisogynoir essay that used it.

@Matematics42 @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Sure language that originates from black trans women can be deployed cynically. It doesn’t help to tone police black trans women when they appropriately use the term to describe specific racial dynamics tho.

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump I think it was pretty inevitable, it's a quippy term linking racism to transfeminity. It becomes a slur you can veneer in anti-racism. "The special term made for bad trans women" was always going to become "term for trans women I hate (all of them)".

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Like I said, I don't care about the term if it's actually used to denounce racism (especially if it's coming from twoc). I've noticed how the term has been adopted by tranmisogynists en masse though.

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump I mean yeah and they should. I feel like "Klansfem" is probably a really bad term for that though, and at this point is just a meme insult to throw at trans women online. I am completely unsold on the rhetorical importance it may have in serious conversations.

@Matematics42 @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Because poc(especially black trans women) are likely to exist in proximity to white trans women by virtue of being trans women themselves they’re allowed to critique the specific dynamics of marginalization they experience without having to include every category of white person

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Though I still dislike the term in general, you're allowed to call a trans woman racist (or a klan member for emphasis) without it being about her identity as a woman.

@tinybird420 Even the reaction, like people making fanart of that comic seems completely out of touch, like one clearly romanticizing suicide. It really seems like fetichizing our misery, in a way I feel like most people would realize is obviously wrong if done to most other minority groups.

NGL, I don't really like the comic that's going around... All I'll say is, trans men, please just write about yourself and stop writing about us. I think that should go for any person trying to write about a person of a different background.

The OP is very young, and wasn't there, and isn't a trans woman. In that context, it's a marvellous piece of art to be proud of. It's a moving, thoughtful, caring work of art. But it's one that's revealing of how even people who care trade in false imagery of trans women.

@SchizoMellie @hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump Unfortunately that probably accounts for <1% of the use of "klansfem". Most of the time I see it used as "trans woman I don't like", not even related to racism.

@hayleyhexagon @unsungmugwump So let me try to understand this. You’re gonna block a black trans woman if she refers to a white trans woman as a klansfem to describe interpersonal dynamics?

@ceentralia I mean, do you not see how outing a random trans woman for an internet gotcha on a bigot in a "Ahah, the woman you thought was sexy is a tranny" doesn't make trans women like you?

@tinybird420 It feels kind of exploitative. It's hard to not feel like it's just misery porn like every Danish Girl or similar story that came before it. I'm sure there is at least one detail in the story most trans women can identify with, but we don't seem to be the intended audience.
