Last evening we had a wonderful celebration of the incredible career of Dr. John Smythe at @QueensPeds spanning over 33 years (30 of them as the solo Pediatric Cardiologist!) It was a privilege to honour him with the Dr. Mariana Silva Award for Distinguished Service in Pediatrics

The BORN Information System (BIS), which now holds over 1.6 million birth records, turns 12 today! BORN Ontario has been collecting, analyzing and sharing rich information within the health system to influence and enhance pregnancy and newborn care. Recently, information in the BIS supported the evaluation of a novel care model (ORACLE) that supports some of the most underserved pregnant people. Watch this video to learn more. We continue to look for novel ways to support improvements in prenatal care using our data. Have ideas? Get in touch!
