🚨 Major Canadian newspaper La Presse just put a target on Jewish schoolchildren. Named Jewish schools. Highlighted their ties to Israel. Published photos of students. Faces blurred but parents say their kids now walk to school in uniforms that make them instantly identifiable. What was the “scandal”? Jewish schools hosted Israeli speakers. IDF veterans. October 7 survivors. People telling their stories. Jewish kids learning about Israel. That’s what got turned into an “exposé.” Canada used to be one of the safest places in the world to be Jewish. Not anymore.

Parents of children in Canadian Jewish schools told The Jerusalem Post of their horror after discovering that the schools were aggressively singled out by a major newspaper. ✍️ @MathildaHeller jpost.com/diaspora/antis…

What is happening to our criminal justice system? It feels like every day, it finds a new way to betray British Jews. When a poster at a protest depicting a Star of David and the words “stop the genocide” was reported to the police, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) reportedly dismissed this concern by claiming that there is a “confirmed genocide in Gaza” and therefore the content was not considered “unlawful”. It argued that the placard was aimed at “the state of Israel for the now confirmed genocide in Gaza, not the race or religion”, and maintained that the blue colouring of the stars — “one of the colours of the Israeli flag” — served to distinguish the symbol from Judaism more broadly. The CPS has since offered an “unreserved apology” for its handling of the incident and the “poor quality of advice” it issued to its officers. It has said that it is “urgently reviewing how this happened”. While an apology is welcome, it is deeply concerning that the institution designed to deliver justice for British citizens so often finds itself mired in scandal over its treatment of matters relating to this country’s Jewish community. Earlier this month, Jews partaking in CPS review panels came forward to say that they do not feel that antisemitism is being taken seriously by the CPS. Are we really surprised that only 7% of British Jews believe the CPS does enough to protect them, according to our polling? The CPS has to demonstrate that it takes antisemitism as seriously as any other form of racism, or it risks irreparably losing the confidence of British Jews. thejc.com/news/uk/cps-ga…

"'From the river to the sea' is a call for destruction and should be punished if the law is adopted," French MP Caroline Yadan told The Jerusalem Post as her antisemitism bill nears completion. | Interview by @MathildaHeller jpost.com/diaspora/antis…

Hamas-Linked Group Trains Gazans on Wikipedia The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, which is linked to Hamas, is training 12 young Palestinians in Gaza to edit Wikipedia pages about the Israel-Hamas conflict. The program aims to document alleged Israeli crimes using live testimonies and to counter online misinformation. Euro-Med has faced Israeli sanctions and has been accused of spreading anti-Israel narratives. @MathildaHeller
