My understanding is that the current law and guidance on face coverings in school classrooms is simply a recommendation in assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…. Classrooms do not constitute a "relevant place" as listed in Schedule 1 of the current face covering regs legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2021/1340….

Chris McGovern is both right and wrong. However in the vast majority of cases of classroom teachers leaving due to poor behaviour it is the Headteacher who is at fault for allowing a free-for-all 'blame individual teachers' attitude.
