Breaking news Sergeant Fannie Nkosi arrested on Firearms Charges Controversial South African Police Service (SAPS) Sergeant Fannie Nkosi has been taken into custody and faces criminal charges after firearms and ammunition were allegedly found in his possession, reportedly linked to his brother’s security company. Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee reported today, Friday that Nkosi was handcuffed and transported to a police station. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, following the Easter weekend. A search-and-seizure warrant was executed at Nkosi’s home in Pretoria North earlier this week as part of ongoing investigations. A notice of rights document issued to “Fannie Hercules Nkosi” lists charges including defeating the ends of justice, theft, possession of unlicensed ammunition under the Firearms Control Act, and possession of a stun grenade or unlicensed explosive under the Explosives Act. Nkosi, attached to the Gauteng Organised Crime Unit, rose to prominence in recent weeks as “Witness F” at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He testified at length about alleged ties between senior police officers and organised crime figures in the taxi industry. His evidence included claims of information-sharing with suspects and other irregularities, drawing intense scrutiny from commissioners and public attention. SAPS has confirmed the operation but has not yet released further official details about the investigation or any additional items seized.

Tribunal Orders Anele Mdoda’s Husband to Repay Over R14 Million in PPE Contracts The Special Tribunal has ordered Bonelela “Buzza” Mgudlwa, husband of Anele Mdoda, and his business partner Katleho Mokonyane, daughter of ANC First Deputy SG Nomvula Mokonyane, to repay more than R14 million linked to irregular COVID-19 PPE contracts. In a judgment delivered on 25 March 2026, Judge David Makhoba ruled that two contracts awarded to their company, Tark Group Pty Ltd, by the Mpumalanga Department of Health were unlawful, constitutionally invalid, and void from the outset. The tribunal found that procurement processes were bypassed and that the company failed to meet key compliance requirements. The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) revealed that the department paid over R14.3 million for medical jumpsuits and surgical masks, despite the supplier lacking proper accreditation at the time and failing to disclose potential conflicts of interest. In a significant move, the tribunal pierced the corporate veil, holding both Mgudlwa and Mokonyane personally liable after finding they acted fraudulently and dishonestly in securing and executing the contracts. They have been ordered to repay the full amount, forfeit any profits, and cover the SIU’s legal costs. The case forms part of the SIU’s broader efforts to recover public funds lost through irregular procurement during the COVID-19 pandemic. No criminal charges have been announced in relation to this matter.

What credentials are we looking for in a PPE company ? No affiliation to anyone in the department .How long should a company been operational? I ask because there were very few PPE companies this time last year so what should be above board. Conflict of interest aside.

I’m not surprised that Anele Mdoda married a criminal because herself, she is a criminal Bonelela Mgudlwa. Remember when Social Development Department PAID R500 000 for Anele Mdoda to interview Bathabile Dlamini on the Real Talk With Anele talk show on SABC 3. #RealTalkWithAnele

PPE deal struck while Katleho Mokonyane and Bonelela Mgudlwa were lovers with a child together They have been ordered to repay R14 million in explosive Covid tender scandal A scandal of love, money and political connections has erupted after Katleho Mokonyane and her former lover and business partner Bonelela “Buzza” Mgudlwa were ordered to pay back more than R14 million linked to controversial Covid-19 tenders. The pair who were business partners, share a child and were once romantically involved have been thrust into the spotlight after the Special Tribunal ruled that their company unlawfully benefited from lucrative PPE contracts awarded during the height of the pandemic. Katleho is the daughter of ANC heavyweight Nomvula Mokonyane, adding a powerful political dimension to the saga that is already raising eyebrows across the country. According to reports, the contracts were awarded by the Mpumalanga Department of Health in 2020 and were meant to supply surgical masks and medical jumpsuits at a time when the country was desperate for protective equipment. But investigators say the deal was anything but clean. The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) found that the tender process was riddled with irregularities, including the shocking claim that only one company - linked to Katleho and Mgudlwa was invited to quote, with no proper bidding process followed. Even more explosive, the tribunal heard that mandatory procurement structures like bid committees were bypassed entirely, while the company allegedly lacked the proper licensing to supply medical goods. In a damning ruling, the court found the contracts were “invalid and void,” with the judge concluding that the pair had acted “fraudulently, dishonestly and/or improperly” in securing the deals. Now, they have been ordered to repay every cent. The money in question is staggering - over R13 million for medical jumpsuits and more than R1 million for surgical masks, all paid out of public funds during a national crisis. Despite the ruling, the duo have pushed back, arguing that the goods were delivered and used, insisting the state cannot “retain the benefit” while reclaiming the money. But the tribunal was not convinced. The scandal is made even more dramatic by the personal lives at the centre of it all. Mgudlwa, who previously dated and had a child with Katleho, also has a teenage child with his ex-wife. He has since moved on and is now married to media darling Anele Mdoda, in a high-profile relationship that has kept him in the public eye.Mdoda is according to a source far removed from the scandal. ”Although they have know each other other for a long time, they only wer romantically involved after. It would be unfair to ruin her career  that she worked hard for years over his bad decision.” Meanwhile, the case has reignited public anger over Covid-19 corruption, a period many South Africans remember as a feeding frenzy for politically connected individuals while ordinary citizens struggled through lockdowns and loss. buzzlifenews.com
