@BrianRoemmele If you listen to 1st Wave on SiriusXM it’s basically 1980s KROQ in 2026. They have Richard Blade, who is the man in the commercial, as its primary DJ, as well as Egil Aalvik, ‘The Swedish Egil’ as evening host.

Dick Sheppard AKA Richard Blade I worked with Dick Sheppard at a place called the Red Onion I was the chief engineer. Dick got me the job there. I Knew Him when he was dirt poor working as a mobile DJ.
1977 KROQ was put on the Air by My friend Brad Sobel. AKA “Sandy Beach” Would visit Brad at the Pasadena Hilton Hotel were the Studios were set up in a hotel suite.
Worked For Ken Roberts the owner during High School at his home in Mandeville Canyon….Things Skyrocketed for KROQ when they hired a programmer named “ Jed the Fish”. The rest is history…
