I think what he’s been able to do for both club and country has been amazing. And in terms of American players playing abroad, him and Antonee Robinson have been the most consistent and the top players in terms of flying that flag for us. In terms of his situation, I can’t say what it is, I don’t know the ins and outs of it. But in terms of my situation, when I played in Europe and came back, there were times where I was tired. I had to get a PRP injection in my adductor. I had to maybe rest for some of the friendly games so that I could be fit to play in the tournaments. Whether it was Gold Cup, whether it was Copa, whether it was Confederations Cup, whether it was the World Cup. Like I was gonna miss competitions. That’s just the kind of guy that I always was. So for me, I don’t understand it because that wasn’t my mentality. I always wanted to play in those games."

Davies' camp claims he wasn’t 100% after the Mexico game and was mismanaged for the USMNT match.
You have to save the player from himself! It's a terrible look for Marsch and #CANMNT.

STATEMENT FROM DAVIES' CAMP 🚨 Alphonso Davies' agent Nedal Huoseh tells our Kristian Jack following his client's injury: “I am very disappointed. Alphonso was not 100% after the Mexico game and it was planned that he was not going to start against the USA. On Saturday night the expectation was he would not be in the XI. As a captain I feel he was pressured to start the game by the coach. Alphonso is not the kind of guy to say no in those moments. He ended up playing and look what happened. Canada Soccer needs to do a better job managing these players, in my opinion. Alphonso is down and obviously really disappointed about this injury. Thankfully he is in wonderful hands with a world class group at Bayern who will take great care of him. He is expected to have the surgery within the next 24 hours.” OneSoccer has contacted Canada Soccer for a statement on the matter.
