A topic that seems to be dividing the #SaintsFC fanbase. Pending the findings of the FA's investigation, where do you stand on Tonda Eckert's future?

@SaintsExtra @AlfieHouseEcho Our whole argument is that the spying didn’t give us a sporting advantage. Therefore him, Phil and Spors created a team that was on the brink of autos Like us, they (apparently) didn’t see this coming If they truly didn’t know then we have to trust them

While nothing is confirmed, Leo Scienza's departure feels likely. A potentially generational Premier League season has fell out of our grasp 💔 Here were his stats: ⬇️ • 7 Goals • 10 Assists Per 90: • 2.20 Succ. Dribbles • 2.24 Chances Created • 3.65 Fouls Won #SaintsFC

@IamBalhamMatt Or why it’s now considered worse than financial irregularities which over the course of the season give you more of a sporting advantage when you buy/pay better players

I still haven’t had an answer to the question of why spying is worse than, for instance, intentionally fouling high up the pitch to prevent counterattacks as a premeditated tactic. I’ve heard variants of: 1) Rarara I hate Southampton hahaha you’re out. (Fine, but not an argument) 2) Shouldn’t have cheated then! (Doesn’t address proportionality) 3) Fouls, diving etc. are dealt with in-game (obviously not enough to discourage it which was the main argument for the prosecution in the Saints FC case). 4) How can you compare it to a dive or a foul? (I’m talking about a premeditated strategy involving intentional rule-breaking). 5) Spying gives you a huge advantage, bigger than coordinated, intentional fouling or injuring opponents. (The likes of Shearer, Murphy, O’Hara and Cundy who have played the game at the highest level have come out and said it would have made a minimal difference). I’ve accepted that Saints fucked around and found out, and all associated within the club need to go, but until I get an answer which lies outside one of those 5 listed above, I’ll be of the opinion we’ve been treated very harshly with a completely disproportionate punishment. This *is* the footballing equivalent of the death penalty for shoplifting - and if you’re a Saints fan reading this, bottle that sense of injustice inside, make an absolute racket at Saint Mary’s next season - and you watch, teams will crumble against us as they’ve always done, and just like #Boro and even #Arsenal did on the pitch. #SaintsFC #Spygate

@EFL_Comms Interesting precedent set Don’t act in good faiith (assume that means financial as well) and you get -2 points for every team you played whilst financially cheating and kicked out the play offs if you make it with a squad bought over the spending cap. Surely it’s the same?

A League Arbitration Panel has today dismissed Southampton Football Club’s appeal against the Independent Disciplinary Commission’s decision in respect of breaches of EFL Regulations. As a result, the original sanction remains in force. Southampton’s expulsion from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs stands, alongside the four-point deduction to be applied to the Club’s 2026/27 Championship record and the reprimand in respect of all charges. In accordance with EFL Regulations, the decision of the League Arbitration Panel is final. Following the conclusion of the proceedings, the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final between Hull City and Middlesbrough is confirmed as taking place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 23 May, kicking off at 3.30pm. #EFL

@Boropolis So pull out and allow Hull to be promoted. That’s porting integrity. Now it’s done and dusted we all know that the impact on the game was negligible and you lost over 210 minutes. Boro don’t deserve the shot at the premier league the same as Millwall and Wrexham don’t

Jeepers, peepers, Southampton lose appeal. Correct decision. Cheating is cheating. Hull City will play Middlesbrough in Saturday’s Championship play-off final at 3.30pm at Wembley. Time for some contrition and reflection at St Mary’s. Time for reimbursing their fans and rebuilding their damaged reputation. Must be doubts over Tonda Eckert’s job now.

If the #SaintsFc appeal isn’t successful - and it may be still - I would expect most fans after getting over the shock will be expecting the club to act strongly against any individual responsible because this is way to dark a day for it to be treated any other way - whoever it is

@MattCoe2 @DomShawEcho Because we don’t have a clinical striker, thats been known about for the whole season. If we did we would have finished on par with Cov. Clubs never reported it as they weren’t aware until last week. They’re all checking for spys now on cctv etc.

@Dendog_UK @DomShawEcho So why didn’t you win the game if we couldn’t cope with you? No one debates the cheating it’s the proportionate punishment in question Read the article - no facts at all and why haven’t those clubs reported it?

@MattCoe2 @DomShawEcho We did have to change from the start of the 1st leg, funnily enough Southampton weren’t able to cope with us. It was as if we had tactics you didn’t expect. Anyway, looks like a bad turn has just been published…

@Dendog_UK @DomShawEcho I would expect a professional manager to be able to adapt to a teams change in shape multiple times mid game. And also Boro battered Saints in the first leg and should have been 3-0 up at HT let alone at the end of the game

@utb1980 Agree but they don’t unfortunately. Which is why exclusion in my slightly biased opinion is harsh. No one I know supports the club in what happened but just feel it needs to be proportionate with other cheating offence’s and not made an example of for the sake of it

One more time for those at the back: Stop talking about whether the game was affected. CHEATING IS CHEATING. Example: A team field ineligible player in play-offs. Player puts in a 3/10 performance: expulsion. Player puts in a 9/10 performance: expulsion. #utb #SaintsFC
