It's amusing to note that the one issue that caused Democrats at large to align with extractive banking practices and the gambling industry, it's crypto. If crypto came out against cigarettes you'd get Gensler aide articles about how big tobacco is the lifeblood of america.

The most amazing thing about these is how durable the cover is compared to a prov1. We had three different guys play the same single ball at bandon for three different rounds. Probably a dozen bunker shots. Not a scuff. Put a standard prov in the bunker and it’s 50/50 to have a gash.

@ItsSun You must be really good at not going to phishing sites! 😄 It'll flag malicious sites so long as you have it enabled. You dont necessarily have to use it constantly for it to block, just have it enabled.

@MattCorva There is a difference between insiders trading on their inside information and insiders manipulating/altering a market outcome for their own benefit. The latter is not a healthy part of markets.

Insider trading is a feature, not a bug, of prediction markets. They are markets for information and they should remain that way. That’s the absolute benefit of them - the closest and most real time source of truth that others can monitor and react on. Turning them into solely financial markets neuters their benefit and is incredibly misguided.

@gnosis_ Don’t view this as endorsing a world without sensible rules, particularly on elected officials, but let’s not lose sight of what the benefit of these markets at scale can be.

For example, in 2018 we approached the CFTC for relief on a prediction market built on @gnosis_. The proposed market was for when the L train (which was supposed to close operations for some time and is the only direct subway thoroughfare from North Brooklyn into manhattan) would open. They asked us “what about insiders” and our reaction was that is the whole point. If you worked construction or policy and had direct info we wanted you participating in the markets. If you were a prospective renter in north Brooklyn you could view the market as most informative as to when you would have direct subway access to the city. Excluding insiders means you are relying on indirect speculation for information. Cc: @RitchieTorres. Don’t turn prediction markets into something they are not intended to be.

FINRA commonly reviews tickers that experience irregular trading activities - I.e. a microcap that suddenly has big volume. Most of these are probably just standard investigations as a result of those flags. Time will tell if people ran unserious processes.

I see a future where @MetaMask USD (aka $MUSD) is well established, broadly accepted collateral for derivatives trading of all stripes conducted cleanly and transparently on @LineaBuild, all from the safety and performance of a self-custody interface like Metamask for fractions of what it costs today. Long way to go but today is a good step in the right direction. Kudos @CFTCpham for pushing forward with this innovation agenda. Talk about the right person for the job at the right time.

The best thing about Linea is that Consensys imagined it for the next 10 years, not the next 10 seconds. If you want to build meaningful apps with a robust and sticky user base, this will be it purely because of the token design and eth alignment. Since there are no sales or insiders, the upside is with those who want to build on it in the early stages. Just like ETH.

I remember @LayerZero_Core gave me about 3x my fees (which I don't complain) Linea with a terrible pre-market, is giving me around 11x my fees as I have more of less the same amount of Linea token then @Fijacyber_ (x.com/Fijacyber_/sta…) My very honest opinion: The overall structure of the airdrop is good. I just hope the last 1% will be well distributed to those who have been consistently building on Linea over the past few years, let's see how it goes. Atm, there's no info about it so, no need to speculate, we just know that it will be up to the app/community founder to decide what to do with the allocation. What I often saw below my tweets: => Some people are angry regarding the liquidity program which is uncapped => Some people are angry about the 2000 lxp threshold (too high) => Some people are angry because 8000 lxp isn't valued enough => Some people are angry because some wallet didn't make a tx the last 6 months and they got some tokens => It's an insider team airdrop The reality is: => You can't cap a liquidity program. If you want to reach $3B in liquidity, what's the point of capping the rewards? For ex: if you only allow people with $10K maximum, you'll need a lot of people to reach your objective of $3B. And if you decide to cap at the end of the program, you can be sure you'll never see them again on your infra. It’s an honest post, so I also need to share my honest opinion: I don’t really like liquidity programs in general. Most of the time they’re just a waste of tokens for projects. Liquidity providers are most of the time capital mercenaries. BUT. Even though I’m not a whale, I’m a capital mercenary too, I’ll go where I can make money, and you probably will as well. The only difference is the size of our bags. A liquidity program can be interesting if there’s a real strategy behind it. I truly think Linea Ignition is a strategic campaign and very necessary right now to onboard institutional capital onto the network. Let’s see how it goes! Also, the team decided to reward LXP holders much more than LXP-L holders: 9% vs 4%. That’s a huge difference. Of course, if you compare to your personal allocation to someone that put $30m worth of liquidity during 6 months you will feel is not fair. But you have to compare the average between LXP & LXP-L. LXP was much more rewarded then LXP-L holders, which is normal btw. => 2 000 LXP threshold was necessary. Analyses from Nansen, mine, and other CT folks show that the vast majority of sybils were below 2 000 LXP. Of course, you’ll still find some sybils at 3 000, 4 000, even 6 000 LXP, but the percentage is very low compared to those under 2 000. Regarding the maximum amount of Linea tokens you can. Whatever you are at 8k, 9k, 10k LXP, you need to make a comparaison with the lowest allocation. 2000 LXP * the lowest multiplier vs 9000 * the highest multiplier You’ll see the difference is more than huge, which is totally normal since the effort is very different. I just wanted to point that out. I’ll develop this aspect a bit later in the thread. Just to remind you: the best L2 airdrop was arbitrum right? how much was the difference between the lowest and highest allocation? x16! => Regarding wallets with inactivity or without PoH: yes, many of them haven’t interacted with Linea for a long time and at first, this statistic will definitely shock you (it did me too). But you need to understand that 90% or more of them were wallets that provided liquidity during the Surge. If there’s no incentive, they’ll go somewhere else, this is what I explained in the first point, so at the end, i'm not surprised. For the PoH, it’s useless for LPs because it’s a linear liquidity program. Whether you use $10K in the same wallet or $1K across 10 different wallets, you’ll end up with the same amount of Linea tokens. You cannot game or sybil a linear liquidity program. => I also saw some tweets claiming it’s an insider airdrop and that all the tokens are going to the team. There are really only two reasons for saying this: either to farm engagement or because they’re completely new to crypto. Every campaign was public and very transparent, every LXP point is in your wallet and on the Linea blockchain, you need the same activity to gain LXP, there's no other way to have it, it's the first project to do this. Even the exact date of the liquidity program was public. I did many airdrop in the past, an insider team airdrop is the opposite of what Linea did. Some examples of an insider/team airdrop look like: => Selling NFTs that give X tokens exactly at the time of the snapshot => Adding liquidity with VC or family money during the campaign (which wasn’t public) and removing it the exact day the campaign ended => Setting strange criteria: 0.01364 ETH minimum in the wallet at snapshot or 20 transactions on testnet and 20 on mainnet to be eligible, etc. I just want to finish this thread with this: Everyone is looking at the pre market price and making their own calculations from it. If you replaced the pre market price with any other VC funded L2 (which usually start very high to finish very low), this would probably be in your top 3 airdrops of all time, so the criteria, the structure and the % allowed for the airdrop isn't bad at all. I remain bullish on Linea FDV. It’s hard to speculate in the very short term (otherwise I’d be as rich as Warren Buffett), but I’m very bullish on Linea mid and long-term growth: fdv included. To remind you: Linea has no VCs, doesn’t pay any KOLs, and acts as a public good to enhance the Ethereum capabilities: faster and cheaper, while maintaining the exact same bytecode and security as the L1 (the only L2 who's doing this) - no trade offs! Just more capabilities. I remain extremely bullish on Linea, no matter the pre market price. It’s the first non extractive L2 on the market, the foundations are very strong imo. Of course, you can have your own opinion on it but the tech, tokenomics, team, Consensys, SBET, Etherex, native yield, MetaMask, MetaMask Card… none of these are ordinary features. These are the foundations that will help Linea grow and slowly create a flywheel: increasing revenue, expanding the ecosystem, and becoming a leading L2 for institutions. there’s still a lot of work to do to achieve this, but as my bio says: I have the vision
FIJA@Fijacyber_

Reflecting back on the Linea airdrop allocation: I spent $130 in fees, and I got about 52K $LINEA tokens in return. At the current pre-market price, I'm up about 11X. Also, note that Linea is incredibly undervalued with the current pre-market price, so I expect it to be 3x the current FDV it is now on TGE. How about you? How much fees do you spend, and was your allocation worth it? 🫵🏽👇🏽
