@loisvoirol Thanks… yeah man, it’s never been easy for artists. I feel that this space was misleading because it was never about the art… it’s particularly tricky here because there are a lot of savvy investors and crypto traders that manipulated young artists to get a better investment.

Sadly yeah I can only agree. Greed and corruption managed to ruin a place that felt truly special, as it does with everything else, I guess that it was only bound to happen.
I have lots of respect for you Matt, thanks for sharing your point of view, I’ll always keep an eye out to see what you’re up to, you’re one of the most fascinating artists that I met here.

I don’t believe in a decentralized Art world
The Art world will keep overlooking the world of "nfts" in my opinion and here’s why. Despite acting as the advocate of some great values, that space lacks authenticity. On one hand it advertises itself as a revolution, as anti-establishment. But on the other hand it encourages (almost forces) conformity by pushing a narrative that only benefits the people who follow it, especially those who are at the top. And if you don’t agree with the narrative, or worse, speak up against it, you will be silenced and left behind. It claims to be a space that gives its chance to anybody, anywhere, when in reality it’s only profitable for the small group of people who are in charge. Decentralization, which on paper is a great concept when it is applied correctly, like in crypto broadly speaking, is reduced to a buzz word that people like to throw around just to look good – this might only be my opinion, but I don’t believe that we need a decentralized Art world.
Artists used to make it because they had something to say, because of their character, and their talent - not because a bunch of gamblers placed a bet on them, nor because they befriended everybody around them out of interest.
A space that labels itself as revolutionary
That doesn’t accept criticism
And encourages / forces people to conform
Doesn’t sound very revolutionary to me.
This space also lacked transparency since day one, which is not particularly surprising since it’s bound to the world of crypto, anonymity and all of that (+ the Art world isn’t really transparent either) but it’s still a huge down side imo.
On the other hand I believe in a lot of artists that I met in this community over the years. I firmly believe in "individuality" and I’m sure that a lot of these artists will have great careers and will make a name for themselves in the Art world.
This space wants you to bend the knee and conform to a bunch of made up rules written by the incompetents and the ignorants who are in charge. Do not conform, step away, live by your own rules, and do not settle for mediocrity.
This space truly looked like it could have been something special a few years ago, a true revolution for artists all around the globe, will soon be irrelevant at best. And all of this because the people who are in charge have all decided to settle for, encourage & worship mediocrity.
