@NtiAning It was good. It needed a little more work and time to cook, but it was so good. Plus the closeted son thing was so amazing because it fit the source material, it wasn't like "lets make a gay character," it was "lets highlight a gay historical character that might be gay."

No one: Me: Remember the short-lived 2009 NBC drama, KINGS — a retelling of David & Goliath but in an alternate reality where the United States is a monarchy and it’s ruled by a king played by Ian McShane but also starred a young Sebastian Stan as his closeted prince son???

People think we condemn Ben Gvir hoping we will be liked more. No. We are condemning him because he represents the thing we don’t want to become. A red line.

What do you think about Itamar Ben-Gvir’s handling of the “drugs and orgies flotilla”? Effective? Or just damage and ammunition for the enemy?

In just 6 years Val Kilmer was: hilarious in Top Secret!, a slacker savant in Real Genius, ice-cool in Top Gun, and dashing in Willow (38 today). Then he virtually became Jim Morrison in The Doors. Willow is still great: pure fun, and genuinely dark when it needs to be.

Serious question: Why do these people go to the schools that they clearly don’t like. They don’t wanna go to class unless the class is a protest. They seem to be constantly trying to change the school and They don’t want to take part in the school culture unless they control it.

@DebbiAlmontaser you said “Muslim men are mandated to perform Jumah, Friday prayer AT A MOSQUE.” Does that look like a mosque?? This would be inappropriate if it was a boys school, girls school, a fucking supermarket. They have no real reason to do it THERE except for bad intentions.

As a Councilmember that has a sizable Muslim community (Yemeni, Bengali, Turkish, Uzbek & Pakistani Americans) and several mosques in your district, you are out of touch with Muslim your constituents and how they worship. Muslim men are mandated to perform Jumah, Friday prayer at a mosque. Every small mosque in NYC at times has an overflow of men praying on the sidewalk and street. Where ever you stand to pray it is believed to be blessed and angels stand witness to that prayer. To insinuate that the men worshiping lined up to intimidate and engage pedophilic behavior in front of the girl’s high school is blasphemous. The girls schools was blessed by their prayer in the presence of angels. Muslims are taught to respect people of the book and their houses of worship. Who are the people of the book? The Abrahamic faiths, Christians and Jews. Stop weaponizing Islam and Muslims and creating divisions for likes on social media and taking jabs at Mayor Mamdani every time an opportunity presents itself. You are sowing hate and hate leads to violence. Brooklyn has in the last couple of months had one too many hate crimes against Muslims.
Councilwoman Inna Vernikov@InnaVernikov

This is an ALL GIRLS Jewish school in my district. I’m all for prayer and free speech, but why do a bunch of GROWN MEN need to do this right outside of a school full of little Jewish girls??? Is not this what MOSQUES are for? Is this intentional? Mayor Mamdani @NYCMayor any words of wisdom on why all of a sudden they’d feel compelled to do this?

Wow... I'm not a lawyer but from my research it appears that a lot of people misunderstand “actual malice.” Netanyahu does not have to prove that the NYT hates him. Under U.S. defamation law, he would have to prove the paper either knew the allegations were false, or published them with reckless disregard for whether they were true. That is an extremely high bar and why these cases are notoriously difficult to win. What makes this interesting is that the article relied on sources tied to Hamas aligned activist networks and made extremely inflammatory allegations that would normally require overwhelming verification before publication. The fact that it ran in the opinion section does not automatically shield the NYT. Opinion writers have broad protection for arguments and conclusions, but they still cannot knowingly publish false factual claims or recklessly present unverified allegations as true. So the fight will likely center on recklessness. Did the NYT ignore obvious credibility problems? Did they fail to properly vet the claims and sourcing before publishing accusations this serious? The discovery should undoubtedly prove interesting. In my opinion this is long overdue. Curious to hear from lawyers about what might happen here.

The Klu Klux Klan used to march through black neighbourhoods in the 50s and 60s, seeking to intimidate black residents and assert white supremacy. Now antisemites march through Jewish neighbourhoods, seeking to intimidate Jewish residents and assert anti-Jew supremacy. It was racism then and it’s racism now.
Hen Mazzig@HenMazzig

Brooklyn, NY 🇺🇸 Chanting "Zionism will fail" in a Jewish neighborhood in the US is not anti-Zionism. We have not seen such intimidation of Jewish communities like this in quite some time.
