@Catholic_bro Judge it based on whether it aligns with scripture and whether the fruits of the conclusion produce humility, truthfulness, holiness, love, repentance, and wisdom. Consulting other men over God isn't the way to go.

Against Heresies is a biased man made work that's starting premise is that the catholic are right which is instantly bias and unreliable. Its circular logic to use that as justification. You keep using Iranaeus as your evidence. You worship Mother Mary and the pope. Is the created man your God? It seems like God's Word has very little value to you. Also your arrogance and debasement of fellow followers of Christ reflects none of Christ's espoused values. All you are is worthless propaganda for a corrupted manmade institution with no valid claim to interpretative authority.

Catholicism is the original church. Orthodoxy developed between the 5th and 9th centuries. Protestantism in the 16th. Only Rome is built on the bones of St. Peter and holds his faith unbroken.

@KristanHawkins Yeah you're sure it'll get a lot of negative comments because you just put false words in the mouth of every protestant with an accusation that doesn't even hold up under the slightest pressure.

And I'm sure this post will get a lot of negative comments. But you don't have to agree with the Catholic Church (or me) to agree that Mary was special and should be revered by all Christians.

I feel bad for my non-Catholic Christian family and friends who think Mary was just some random chick. She was chosen to be the new Ark. She was chosen to literally house God in the flesh. And the proof is clear that she is active in Heaven and here on earth, forever worshipping our Creator and praying for us.

@KristanHawkins It's amazing how many "Christians" disregard Mary or verbally show disrespect. Unfortunately some Christians view Catholicism as "demonic" or so ive been told.

@KristanHawkins I feel sorry for anyone who resd past the first sentence. Literally not a single protestant thinks mary was "some woman". That is a massive strawman. Not acknowledging Mary as someone capable of recieving prayer doesn't in any way equate to not valuing her at all

Thats wild you just ran to AI to debate for you... 1. In saying "7th-century context" to excuse this, you’ve already lost the argument. You are Desperately trying to redefine "timeless" to mean "acceptable for the Middle Ages," but that’s a total logical failure. If "Uswa Hasana" makes his example the perfect moral map for muslims for all eternity, it shouldn’t need a historical shield to protect it from being a felony in 2026. You cannot claim he’s the ultimate example for all time while simultaneously begging us not to judge him by the standards of our time. It’s embarrassing to watch you move the goalposts just to keep your "perfect" example from looking like a criminal. 2. Stop pretending you have a clue what Aisha felt. She didn't leave a diary; you’re betting your entire defense on a 200 year game of trust me bro recorded by tribal men who never met her. you reject modern age of consent laws to protect his image, but then flipflop to claim she had the "intellectual maturity" to enjoy the marriage 😂 You don't get to use history to dismiss her age and then ignore that same history to pretend a 9 year old had the agency to choose her own life "in a 7th century context".

Source? Your own books you deem infallible and authentic. sahih al-bhukari 5134, sahih meaning authentic, sound, genuine, states "that the Prophet (ﷺ) married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that `Aisha remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) for nine years (i.e. till his death)." uswa hasana in Quran 33:21 establishes Muhammad's timeless excellent moral example. Timeless by dictionary definition means independent of time, unaffected by the passage of time, or valid for all eternity. If Muhammad's moral example is timeless, and marriage of a 6 year old and sex with a 9 year old is wrong and illegal today even claimed by most muslims, then his moral example cannot be timeless. Yet you hold him as the most revered prophet of your entire religion. Hes your guy. So you are defending him. And he was a pedophile. if a "example" for all time engages in child marriage, it effectively legalises and permits that behavior for all time. If it was only okay "back then," it isn't timeless. My point stands.

Oh fuck off. You’re setting up a straw man by pretending the argument is about businesses needing endless money. That’s not what I said. The issue is very straightforward: paying staff is a BASIC cost of running a business. If a business can’t meet that cost through its normal revenue without leaning on tips or outside supplementation, then the model is fundamentally flawed.

@MattFerner @stianchrister @kashif_822 @Write4Republic It’s funny you talk about interpretation when you dismiss your own Bible’s orders to slaughter infants as just history because you can't defend them. We use context and linguistics because Arabic is a living science unlike your book's indefensible violence.

@VoteLambright @TaraBull We know. but its not our problem. If you cant pay your employees a liveable wage, you shouldnt own a business. Customers arent being stingy, the people workers choose to work for are.

Dear server, hit up your boss about why they expect the customer to pay the wages management should be paying? Why is america supposedly the forefront of the world but the whole world understands what a livable wage is and America doesn't. I can afford a cheeseburger with my hard earned money. My hard earned money isnt to be allocated to a brokie waitress who CHOSE to work a shit job. Your financial failing isnt my fault or my problem. Put the fries in the bag and shut the fuck up.
