@dannybarling1 In all honesty it’s not about pushing a Sussex player it is just about suggesting a name that wasn’t being talked about based on what I have seen/heard of his ability. The spin situation in England is dire and needs to be sorted asap.

@MattPrior13 I fully take your point and do think you talk a lot of sense (mostly)…and articulately. I just think in the context of the current climate and the frustration with inherent bias’s within the system, pushing a Sussex player (bowling average 34) just felt slightly hypocritical.

@MattPrior13 utterly bizarre that you suggest England pick Carson who has 1 wicket in div 2 of county championship so far and you spend the rest of the show urging selectors to pick on form & talent for the rest. We moan at Baz for bias to his own and then you do the same!

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mick Hunt, former Head Groundsman at Lord's. Mick was a very popular character among MCC Members and staff, and his huge smile a permanent feature around the Ground for 49 years, having joined the Lord's groundstaff in 1969 and retiring in 2018. Few people can attest to being so indelibly connected to the history of Lord's. We offer our sincere condolences to his family.

More developments: the 26 signatories of the letter calling for Sussex board to resign en masse are prepared to call an EGM at Hove if the club reject their proposal to place three of their number on a rejigged board. Could trigger a no-confidence vote by members.
