If the Steelers can't even bother to try to be a serious organization, I can't be bothered with them

@kirtimc @shum69 @thebetz93 I think taking Pickett was a mistake unfortunately. But who knows if Willis would have developed under Tomlin and Canada/Smith

I do not argue that Rodgers was the Steelers best bet (after Malik Willis signed that is) to win this year. I do not argue that Rodgers’ presence helps Howard/Allar. I do not argue that the Steelers will be good and competitive this season. I DO argue that they are not a SB contender with Rodgers. I DO argue that it won’t matter if Howard/Allar develop this season when the team drafts a 1st Rd QB in 2027. I DO argue that the Steelers must stop mortgaging future upside at QB for the comfort of an immediate high floor. I DO argue that it would be better to find out this year whether Howard or Allar can hang so you know what to do next April. And finally, I DO state that I will lose my freaking mind in March of 2027 if Mike McCarthy says “we like what we saw behind the scenes with Allar/Howard” and the team proceeds to NOT draft a 1st Rd QB in April.

Aaron Rodgers was not good against elite defenses last year. Any team that has a pass rush, he folds. He's too old. #Steelers #NFL

@Steel_Legends They will win the division. Steelers will unfortunately be fighting the Browns to stay out of last place

@waryokie @JN_Steve_ Yep. Failure of ownership to see the big picture. This Rooney will never have a Super Bowl, but hey, he got the draft to Pittsburgh!

@JN_Steve_ I think there's only one reason Rodgers is back with the Steelers: the organization's fear of having a losing season. So the "specter of Tomlin" lives on. But it does nothing to further the cause of solving their quarterback dilemma.

Aaron Rodgers led the #Steelers to a division title, relying on “MVS” and “35 year old Thielen” in his WR room playing significant snaps.. and I’m suppose to believe the offense won’t improve with the additions of Pittman Jr. and Bernard?

@Blitz_Burgh It's so disheartening. They are either incompetent or in denial. I'm not sure which is better actually

The Texans gave BTA to the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs last year. What do the Steelers do? Give Rodgers a $10 million raise ... #Steelers #NFL

@Savi66 I don’t disagree with any of that…. Coaching change was long overdue. They have underachieved. We’re spoiled because people WANT to see the team tank bc they’re not satisfied being playoff contenders every year.

@Jernelson13 @Dameshek Rodgers isn't the best option. You know what it is. Ceiling is 9-8 and getting embarrassed in the playoffs. Could of went after Kyler, Malik Willis, or take dart throws on JJ McCarthy or Anthony Richardson. At least there's a chance of something better happening

@AngelsFan6905 @lukesawhook The Browns, Jets, Cards and Raiders are perennial losers that usually pick high and are stuck being bad. Stop thinking you need to be bad to get a premier pick or land a franchise QB. KC, Buffalo and Baltimore didn’t suck to get their guy.

Aaron Rodgers vs playoff teams in 2025: 1-5 record 6 TD 6 INT Why would anyone want to bring back the oldest player in the NFL to do that again?

@ThePoniExpress You really don’t get it do you? Who were their options? Mason? Willis? Cousins? Rogers, even at 42 Rogers was the best option they had, and if I had to pick a QB to mentor Howard and Allar it would be Rogers. They’re in this QB mess because of the bust that is Kenny Pickett

Pros and cons of Rodgers returning to PIT: PROS - Best chance to win in '26 - Solid mentor for Howard and Allar - Most complete PIT team of post-Big Ben era CONS - Another Band-Aid at QB - Muddies the QB eval process - If Rudolph is cut, QB2 will have no experience Worth it?

To be clear, I don't hate Aaron Rodgers. He's washed up and his ceiling is very limited, especially against playoff teams with good defenses. I am infuriated with the Steelers organization who think he is the best option at QB and are grasping for mediocrity.

I wrote about 🔸Aaron Rodgers can and can’t do at his advanced age 🔸how Mike McCarthy will try to design an offense around that 🔸the chance that this year’s offense is better than last year’s offense READ: espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@MattTSabol What other option was there realistically? Also they have a better offense this year. Players. System. 1 year older doesn’t mean much.

People happy with Rodgers' signing must have watched a different QB last year. He was mediocre at best and being another year older is just going to make him more timid and fragile. Just lost all enthusiasm that was left for the upcoming Steelers season
