Brilliant to spend the day with the amazing @SamiraAhmedUK and @newswatchbbc production team at NBH today. Also really nice to catch up with other colleagues too. Thank you for having me! 📺

Thoughts remain with all those affected by the awful events in Huntingdon at the weekend. On Saturday I was the first reporter on scene, and for 3-4 hours I was reporting live on the BBC News Channel & Radio 5 Live. Thanks to the prod teams at NBH, Salford and DC that night.

Didn't expect to be on the scene of a major fire on the A14 this afternoon, but jumped straight into journalism mode and filed footage for BBC Look East and @BBCNews Online. Amazing to be credited as a BBC reporter online as well: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

First shift in @BBCCambs' new studios and building yesterday. And also a first time in my 22 year radio career I've ever worked in a brand new studio with new equipment.

Now settled in at the Ross Peers Sports Centre in Soham where the Mayoral election count is underway (and where it has to be said, @votecambridge, that they can also manage desks and chairs for the media representatives!)

It's farewell to an old friend - and for a while, a competitor. The station was a great starting ground for many in radio and the memories will live on. @RadioToday

The station's entertained Cambs & the surrounding areas under 'Star' since 2001, originally as 'Cambridge's Star 107.9' then 'Cambridge & Ely's 107 Star FM/Star 107' and finally: 'Cambridge's Star Radio'. It had other names: Cafe Radio, Cambridge Red then 107.9 The Eagle.
