News reaches me that Cambridge city council is likely to have a minority Labour administration with some element of tacit Lib Dem support; my sources suggest that Mike Davey may be returning as city council leader. We will find out for sure at the Annual Meeting on Thursday.

"The Cambridge Independent understands that following last week's election results, discussions are centred on two options: a Labour-Green-Liberal Democrat 'rainbow' coalition, or a Labour minority administration supported by negotiated agreements on policies and committee roles"
Paul Brackley@PaulBrackleyCI

In this week's @CambridgeIndy we report on power-sharing discussions in #Cambridge after Labour lost its majority in our election analysis. We have a 10-page Science and Technology Awards souvenir supplement, a Sawston Fun Run pic special plus university strikes

Honorary councillors are not voting members of the council - rather the position recognises their previous service as a councillor. This generally only happens when the people concerned are not intending to seek election as a city councillor again. cambridge.gov.uk/honorary-counc…
