If Ross is willing to pay some salary and dolphins include draft compensation to Tua i think a team will trade for tua for the draft compensation then release Tua

Adam Schefter reiterating this AM what we reported Thursday, that Dolphins strongly would prefer to trade Tua (as opposed to simply cutting him). Adam says Dolphins are willing to pay a portion of his salary for a new team; we explain here how that would work. We've also been told what NFL Network reported today - that Tua hasn't been informed yet one way or the other.

Could they revisit Giannis stuff again in offseason? Sure, if Bucks ready to move him. But expecting everything to come together with current roster for some type of run outside of another play-in? It’s a middle ground that gets stale after a few years of it.

Disappointing deadline for Heat fans. The Giannis stuff I can understand. Milwaukee clearly wasn’t ready to move him yet. But not getting some assets? Moving a vet to get pick/s? Missed opportunity to try and pivot to next phase IMO. Status quo just hard to sell right now.

Remember, if the Heat can deal anyone not needed in a Giannis package (Wiggins?) for a 2027 first-rounder, Miami instantly would go from having only 2 tradable firsts (2030 and 2032) to having 4 tradable firsts (2026, 28, 30, 32) if Miami removes protections on Charlotte pick, which the Hornets shouldn't object to. It's the conditional aspects of the first-round pick due Charlotte - in there to protect the Heat - that limit Miami to 2 tradable firsts at the moment.
