@najjar_mohammad Yes, it's an important issue, as the minister explained yesterday, and neutrality in foreign policy is essential. However, we still need to break the taboos and start discussing it with the general public... perhaps reaching out to confederations or even more...

@MattaOrnella I don’t think federalism would work in a society marked by competing loyalties. In a federal system, governance and foreign policy are still ultimately shaped by the state, and these are the core issues in Lebanon. the problem is not only diversity, but fragmented sovereignty..

@MattaOrnella Federalism could work with people with a minimum level of civilized upbringing, not with ignorant, backward, ideologically violent peasants. It's another recipe for ongoing conflicts. Total and complete separation is the only suitable solution for this hell-hole.

(My opinion) the pattern is the same everywhere, no matter how strong a right wing gv’t is, leftist ideas often remain deeply embedded among younger generations, especially through universities & professors who shape their minds. The anger on the left can also appear more intense, often bc it’s tied to people who feel economically frustrated, dependent on state support, struggling for work, or searching for causes that give them relevance.
