Claude Desktop in code mode much slower than the TUI. IDK what it's doing most of the time, but it seems like the AI loop is several times slower.

output tok/s should be the single most important metric that AI providers should optimize on. Just slight increase in output has a significant positive effect downstream at orders of magnitude.

I am hearing tons of complaints from Cursor customers at enterprise companies:
A silent change put almost all models Cursor uses behind Max mode. Devs who used to manage to “spread out” monthly credits over a month see all of it used up in 1-2 days. Are furious + switching.

I find it deeply un-American that individuals in unmarked cars get out in masks and pluck people off the streets.
When I reflect on the hundreds of bills this session, I am especially grateful that Sen. Valdez's bill to bar law enforcement from wearing masks reached my desk.

A big part of what makes Bun a great developer experience is the deep integration between the runtime, the bundler, and the test runner (package manager less so). Building on top of a runtime would be very constraining

I’m always anti-gatekeeping. Learning jQuery before JS was fine. Learning React before manual dom api’s was fine.
You can pick that shit up later.
But the deep expertise needed to see subtle bugs comes from having made those same mistakes over the years.
How do you get that experience without actually writing code?

Senior engineers have to review AI code. Cool. But how do junior and mid-levels become senior without years of writing code by hand?
Smashing the magic button and tossing the result to a senior engineer for review does not make you a senior

Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking? The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).

I don’t gaf about grammar and couldn’t care less to be honest
I learned English from video games and barely have a chance to speak English in a month
I do care when writing semi-professional things like email/documentation and I try really hard and need help from a machine to assist me to proofread all the time
But my quick (shit)post here, I wrote it in English so YOU can understand what I’m trying to communicate to you in YOUR LANGUAGE yet you take my efforts for granted and have the audacity to mock my words
If you really care about grammar then how about you study my language so I can speak without thinking and instead YOU think about every rule my language has before you speak so you can understand how much effort it took before I can finish a single sentence for you to understand
