There’s reason why American men don’t want to it: because it’s literally not sustainable. Your back, shoulders and knees will give out. And you’ll be hobbled forever after.
It’s no surprise Immigrants are much more willing to make that trade. Whether it’s because they are only here for a few years before going back to their countries or because their recent prospects were so much harsher that they willing to work in those environments for low wages.
But … that has also directly stymied innovation and investment in new ways of building.
There’s much lower incentive to bring industrialization to home building when site built construction is so cheap, because it can can chew through the men who swing hammers and carry loads.
As an American, one of the aspects that I’m most proud and hopeful of for my company is that we can provide GOOD jobs for Americans that they can do for decades. That someone can earn an honest wage building homes for their entire career and not sacrifice their the final decades of life to aches and pain pills.

This is a major reason, among many others, why the Parisian ultras were dissolved by the club and others in cahoots. Some of the wings were major recruitment avenues for various nationalist groups operating against antifas in streets etc.

I think without exaggeration that any European football hooligan ultras club is capable of more political action than all online dissidents combined. Naturally, it would all be fruitless and wasted at present because chicken without a head. But something evident to tap into.

@Joeinblack I think that the paperwork we do for marriage prep is pretty brief overall, and considering the complexity and long term “risks” that stem from it, probably one of the higher work-vs-benefit PW we do.
And I think we do it to have a paper trail FOR annulments, not against them.

Every pre-marriage investigation form is now geared toward asking them absolutely insane questions so that you don’t have to give them an annulment later.
And here’s the thing: God forbid they ever need an annulment someday, those forms that we wasted all this time doing will mean nothing.
Way too much of priesthood is filling out forms and jumping through hoops so that Canon lawyers feel better, Bishop‘s feel safer and Priests feel like they aren’t being used.

Ours is a pain though: it is a special sized form (like idk what size it is) that folds and cannot be separated, so long-distance couples must be on site together to do it or you FedEx the entire original form and a deacon or priest there supervises

Was able to understand basic directions in Czech purely through Russian cognants. Almost missed a bus if I couldn't. Russian comes up a lot in the most surprising ways. So far it has been useful in Greece and Czechia. I'm sure it will help with Poland too if I ever go there.

Update on the jockeying to replace Sen. Lindsey Graham: - Rep. Joe Wilson won't ask to be appointed. Unclear if he'll run for Senate. - Rep. Nancy Mace is "strongly considering" running. She tells me she's going to poll it. - Rep. Ralph Norman plans to talk to McMaster today. - Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette is being encouraged to jump in, a person familiar with her thinking told me. She thinks she'd have the best shot having just gotten second in the gubernatorial race.
