I worked on the blackout curtain problem for a while and got frustrated. the windows are really big and there are 3 of them so decent curtains are $$$$. I hung some beige curtains with a tension rod which claimed to be blackout but they still let in a lot of light. And then I’d need her to nap or at least chill out long enough for me to mount 3 curtain rods and hang truly blackout curtains and I just don’t like the prospect of all that

@natssauer blackout curtains? but also if she’s not fussing or unhappy just leave her. she may decide to fall asleep eventually

@BurnerBarbieUSA she can’t nap in a grownup bed, she’d roll off. And I’m not buying bed rails or doing a floor mattress, and even if I wanted to do either of those she’d still get up and walk off if she wasn’t in a crib

@natssauer Sign her up as a security guard. She’s always ready. Does your family not believe in same bed sleeping for family? Opinions vary with this.

We did our newborn pics at 5 weeks which was a touch late, risked not getting the baby to sleep the whole time and wasn’t like a snuggly fresh newborn, but they were still cute and i fit my fave pants. Also, in my area the photographers booked their clients before the baby was even born, so it was challenging to find someone available after we already had the baby. We did our Christmas cards for our “announcement” card so that was around like 2.5 months

how soon after birth do u have 2 do newborn photos / family photos / announcement in the mail ? is it like 1 month or 3 months idk
