Check out our latest work now out in @PNASnews 🚨⤵️ fNIRS: a novel tool for detecting consciousness after acute severe brain injury pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… We examine the reliability of fNIRS in 100+ datasets across 6 tasks then use fNIRS to detect covert awareness in the ICU

@Comadork @action_brain @karnig_kazazian @MatthewKolisny1 @lorettaenorton How fascinating, congratulations to the author. Just one question, I understand that the performance metric was estimated based on the training set (25 subjects). It would be convenient for % validation to be done with a different set than the training set (split 25 into two sets)

Joey (@jsaito25) and Matthew (@MatthewKolisny1 ) are on 🔥🔥! Two papers published online at Psychonomic Bulletin & Review (@Psychonomic_Soc) in two weeks!! Check out this paper if you are interested in how usage-based VWM distortions compare to simple perceptual interference.

Happy to ALSO report that our (@MatthewKolisny1 & @KeisukeFukuda4) paper investigating the causal role of perceptual comparisons in visual working memory biases is also out now at Psychonomic Bulletin & Review! link.springer.com/article/10.375…

New preprint w/ Matthew Kolisnyk & @KeisukeFukuda4! In a pair of experiments, we demonstrate that deliberate perceptual comparisons causally modulate visual working memory (VWM) biases induced by both task-relevant and -irrelevant perceptual input. (1/4) psyarxiv.com/dqng3

Lastly, a big shout out to the stars of the work, @MatthewKolisny1, April E. Pereira, and @caitelamb. It's been a long ride, especially with the pandemic, but you guys did it!

And the last one of our Memorability trilogy. In this work (psyarxiv.com/smuan/) spearheaded by @MatthewKolisny1, April E. Pereira and @caitelamb, we revisited the canonical EEG subsequent memory effects through a lens of memorability. A not-so-quick summary to follow.

Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now.
